Outdoor Establishments

The LNA confirms that Outdoor Establishments has been a member of the LNA since 2012. LNA members must satisfy the membership criteria and requirements regarding appropriate insurances, qualifications and quality checks. They also agree to be bound by the Constitution, Rules, By-Laws and adhere to the Code of Ethics.

Trystan, Matt and their team at Outdoor Establishments transformed our garden in McMahons Point from something which was ordinary and acceptable, into something magical. Our main focus was to establish a raised bed for growing our herbs and vegetables. We had some ideas about corrugated iron, possibly to complement our roof. I can only describe the idea that was put to us about this bed as inspired. OE suggested a heritage sandstone bed. Not only would this material complement the sandstone in our home and the local area, but it would provide a seat for guests when entertaining. What an improvement on our corrugated iron idea! It was also suggested that we extend the brick pavers to enlarge our entertainment area. Another smaller sandstone bed was constructed as a home for a native bottlebrush. We had expressed our fondness for the local bird life, and were delighted to have a tree which would provide an attraction. We were so impressed with the sourcing of the materials used. The sandstone consisted of fabulous recycled blocks. The existing brick pavers were a very old style which is no longer manufactured. OE took the trouble to find some very similar bricks, and suggested placing a sandstone border between old and new to create some interest. From the ideas stage of the project through to the implementation, and now the maintenance, Trystan and the team have been a pleasure to deal with. We adore our outdoor areas, and receive no end of compliments. We often see people walk past our house, stop to admire the garden, and then say to each other, "What a beautiful house"! I couldn't agree more. Thank you, Outdoor Establishments, for your inspired ideas, hard work, dedication, and for creating our amazing space which gives us so much pleasure every day of the year. We are very proud of it, and you have every reason to be so too. We look forward to many years of mutual enjoyment of our garden.

Outdoor establishments completed extensive landscaping works at our 1910's crows nest terrace. They designed and constructed our beautiful outdoor spaces within our brief and budget. We would, and have recommended them to anyone looking to enhance or add value to their outdoor spaces. In early 2014 we were lucky enough to engage the lads at Outdoor Establishments during our full renovation of a former Government Housing Commission terrace house in Woolloomoolloo, Sydney. Our dilemma was this; how best to get the full use of what could only be described as a "bombshell courtyard"? Access was a nightmare, nothing had grown there for years (accept weeds of course) and high walls from neighbouring properties gave the whole place a "penitentiary" kind of feel. This all coupled with our shoe-string budget was still not enough to faze Trystan when it came to drawing up a practical, economical and aesthetically pleasing concept. His team worked tires-sly, often after hours and over weekends to meet our strict deadline. Along with Matt, the site was managed with out fault, allowing us to focus our efforts at developing the rest of our project. As you can see the result was truly breathtaking! Design, sourcing vegetation/materials/ fixtures, construction and management. These boys had it all down AND packed!

In 2013 our backyard in Normanhurst had an outdated pool area which required major work. The pool needed resurfacing and tiling and the gardens surrounding the pool area required a total makeover. We wanted natural products around the pool so we went for sandstone and old bricks which suited the feel of the property. Outdoor Establishments were contracted to perform the work and did a brilliant job. The result is an area where we can relax, entertain and enjoy outside living. There are some photos on the Houzz website which can be found by searching outdoor establishments and looking for the Normanhurst project. Not only did we finish up with a backyard exceeding all our requirements but the process was painless due to the friendly workers involved. The sandstone walls around the pool are one of the highlights creating a natural relaxing oasis in our busy lives. Maintenance wise it is so much easier than before. We would not hesitate to recommend Outdoor Establishments for such work.
