We have a modest 1960's mid-century home located in a historic neighborhood and Katrina redesigned the front yard and entry atrium. The tasks were to create a beautiful design and to utilize existing plants and pavers, while visually connecting the front yard, entry courtyard, great room and pool deck. Katrina is a kind, collaborative and artistic designer. She worked alongside the landscaping crew and carefully supervised all phases of the installation. She is hands on, timely, thorough and dedicated. We are very pleased with the finished results and highly recommend her.

Katrina designed a COVID backyard space for us - a place to hang out and find some peace of mind. A deck, pergola, hot tub, plantings. She did an amazing job. She can look at the space you have available and transform it to suit your particular tastes and needs, The wood structures (deck and pergola) are design masterpieces - lovely, sturdy, and functional. She has broad and detailed knowledge of regional, drought-resistant plants. The landscape/construction people she drew into the project were all first-rate. She was a pleasure to work with, start to finish. Can't go wrong with Katrina ...

Katrina provided invaluable guidance during our extensive landscaping project. She patiently listened to our ideas and helped us explore possibilities. Her insights made the process accessible and I especially valued her ability to communicate with various subcontractors. Her plant suggestions were spectacular and she has an eye for working with the existing terrain to achieve an organic, but clean look. If you are seeking a landscape designer with a knowledge of native plants, impeccable design taste, and an environmental conscience, Katrina of Outside InStyle will more than fill that bill. Ten years ago, she transformed our large corner front yard in Los Angeles from a conventional thirsty lawn to a beautiful, unique, drought tolerant landscape. The design includes a beautiful array of plants, an inviting path of decomposed granite, a recirculating water feature, a swale to capture rainwater, rock formations, and strategically placed pavers. Our landscape has attracted admirers in our neighborhood since its installation. Katrina supervised a minor facelift a few years after the original installation and now, after almost a decade, some replacements and amendments are needed again. She is directing the current update as well.

Kommentiert: planting distanceThank you for the inquiry. The trees are planted 5' to 6' ft apart depending on trunk diameter. The larger the diameter--the further apart.

Kommentiert: What is the ping pong table sitting on?The table is resting on highly compacted and stabilized Decomposed Granite (DG). DG works well in drought tolerant landscaped areas when used for pathways, patios, and parkway plantings.
