Über uns

DB&S Lumber and Home Improvement Centers is a name that has been synonymous with high-quality, affordable home supply products for more than sixty years. Founded in 1946 by Edward C. “Ed” Doherty, DB&S began as a family-run business specializing in hardware and remodeling supplies. Today, DB&S has grown to become one of the largest lumber and home improvement companies in the Boston area with four locations. We are proud to say that we are still family owned and operated. Ed Doherty founded DB&S with his first location in Roslindale. Fourteen years later, he opened a second location in Westwood. In 1967, Ed expanded his business once again with the purchase of the Blacker & Shepard Yard of Boston. In 1968, the Boston location was moved to its present day address on Gerard Street. Recognizing a need to better service South Shore customers, DB&S opened its locations in Norwell and Bridgewater in 1978 and 1986 respectively. Today, DB&S carries a variety of trusted brand name building supplies and equipment perfect for both do-it-yourselfers and contractors. Our Norwell location features our Kitchen and Bath Design Center staffed with experienced and knowledgeable designers.
