RE-CO BKLYN

I have been following RE-CO since their very early days when they were in a much smaller location and were basically just sawing up downed trees and selling the lumber. I think that was around Super Storm Sandy time. At any rate I am a weekend woodworker and I have been able to purchase some fabulous lumber for my own projects - from walnut, to beech to even a piece of the Prospect Park Elm that went down in Sandy. Following them as well on Instagram and being at their current location they not only have a great selection of lumber if you do your own, they make some spectacular pieces from the wood they harvest. Tables, counters, shelves - I suspect if you came up with an idea they could make it and do it with highest quality.Check out Roger and the rest of the gang, not only are they excellent craftsmen they are being eco-responsible by re-cycling all of that fabulous lumber.

Getting a counter to go with our low end high end basement media room was part of a 5 year project to get both me and my wife on the same page. Eventually we went to a bar making place in Mount Kisco, and decided a live edge counter would suit us best. They indicated a price of 6.4k, but then sent us a quote 3k higher with no explanation. Next a well recommended custom carpenter gave us a 6.5k quote, but that seemed too high after we investigated what these slabs can be purchased for online. Brownstoner.com led us to RE-CO and we could not be happier with the appearance of the counter, the service, the price, just under 3K delivered. Everything was done by email. The counter is large. And I had a very good experience with them. I don't write a lot of positive reviews.

The people at RE-CO BKLYN helped us choose a slab, and then transformed it into a beautiful table that is the centerpiece of our living room. Prices are fair, and their work is magical.

RECO BKLYN has a wonderful selection of urban harvested lumber and slabs. I thoroughly enjoy looking through their selection, and appreciate the knowledge from RECO's staff. Our first project with RECO was getting book matched black walnut slabs from Central Park. We have also collaborated on a CNC milled sign. Overall, I recommend RECO!

Frankly, my husband and I just woke up one day and decided we needed a live edge table. We looked at no reviews. We randomly picked a site and called for subway directions. We knew though, that once we arrived at the building, we had found the right place. We put our desires in their capable hands and ended up with something beyond our wildest dreams. Pleasant people who were easy to work with and who answered our concerns. We feel like we just won a million bucks.

This is an excellent firm doing the right thing: recycling fallen trees and turning them into works of beauty. Correction: revealing their "inner beauty" would be more accurate. Re-Co staff are responsive: they say on their website they will reply within 24 hours and guess what? they do. How nice to have a work of art from them that is 100% American (even if the origin of the fallen trees they reclaim are from Europe and other geographic areas).

This table exceeded my expectations. It is truly a work of art. RE-Co was a great company to work with. They communicated with us frequently throughout the process and they provided guidance and suggestions for everything from picking out the slab to butterfly placement. They sent us emails and pictures as the slab progressed from tree to dining room table. They delivered the table, set it up and removed the packing. Overall, customer service was terrific. I love my table and would order from them again.

We are so happy to have found Re-Co Brooklyn. Ana, Roger, Jayk, and Dan are really great. They exceeded our expectation in all respects. They're very professional and truly easy to work with. They do such amazing (amazing!) woodwork... fantastic quality with attention to the tiniest of details. Our dining room table was truly finished with patience to perfection. It really came out beautiful. My wife had had an image in her mind of what she wanted, and the guys at Re-co had helpful and creative suggestions and were instrumental in fabricating the table that my wife envisioned.

The folks at Re-Ce Bklyn are very knowledgable about their materials and process. We had some back and forth about the material used for the project, which took a while, but I couldn't be happier with the final product.
