We hired Rich from Give Me Shelter for a laundry room renovation, and could not be more pleased with the result! He was very organized and easy to work with throughout the process and truly is a master of his craft. He handled everything himself from demolition, flooring, plumbing, tile installation and hanging our new cabinets. It was so nice to be able to work with him directly on everything rather than companies who send in various subcontractors to cover all the required aspects of a job. Rich does it all! Despite being a one man crew we were very impressed with his ability to complete all work on schedule as stated in the contract. He goes above and beyond what we expected and has an incredible attention to detail in all aspects of his work. The details of the job were laid out in the contract in an easy to understand format ahead of time, and his prices are very competitive. If you're looking to do home renovations look no further! You'll be hard pressed to find a better option than Rich. We are also planning a few other renovations this year and will be using him without hesitation for all of our home renovation needs!

Rich is fantastic, honest l , and dependable. He was so accommodating to my hectic and unpredictable schedule. I had a small flood from a clogged pipe, which caused some water damage. He fixed my basement ceiling , my floors on the first floor, my light fixtures, amongst other things!! Highly recommended!! You cannot go wrong with Rich Shorter!!

Rich did an amazing job installing a new tile floor in our bathroom. He is a perfectionist! Our house is a little older and the floor needed to be level before the tile could be installed. His attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction was just what this project needed. You can tell by the photo, perfection achieved! I contacted Richard in regards to installing new flooring, back splash, and a few other items that I needed done. My first project was to replace the carpet with flooring. Richard was helpful and very patient. I didn't know much about flooring, so he assisted by suggesting flooring based on the needs of my family. I was so pleased with the work! Richard is very professional, efficient and down to earth. He's very meticulous about his craft. In addition to the flooring, I had a backsplash added and a wall in my kitchen was completely blank, so that was finished with stacked stone, and it really made my kitchen pop! This was also a suggestion, which I couldn't be more happy about. He installed new lights in my kitchen, mounted my tv, installed a faucet in the kitchen, and a ceiling fan in my living room. I couldn't be more ecstatic with his work, and hopefully I can get on his schedule in 2021. I look forward to working with him again! :)

Rich helped us after a pipe burst in our home. He replaced our hardwood and ceilings on our main floor, ceilings in the basement, and flooring and vanity in our 3rd level bathroom. He did great work! I had several repairs that had to be made in order to go to closing on my property. My initial contractor dropped the ball and did not get the repairs completed by the deadline. I pleaded for an additional few days to get the repairs done. Rich Shorter at Give Me Shelter was recommended by a friend. I called him and he was able to get an estimate to me, do the repairs and get the paperwork to me for closing within 72 hours. He provided top notch quality work. I will definitely use Give Me Shelter again!

My wife Lara and I hired Give Me Shelter (Rich), and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We had been waiting, debating, and negotiating with a prior contractor that we hired when we had a traumatic experience happen to our house, and we decided to switch and go with Rich. Well, Rich came in and finished the project in less than three weeks that kept us out of our house for three months. He did our entire kitchen remodel, which consisted of cabinetry, counters, painting, and appliances. He essentially fixed everything the prior contractor had failed to do the first time around, and he did it with ease. He gave us our home back. Rich is someone who will gather information, bring that info and data to you, and get your input before he makes any moves. This is extremely refreshing after the experience my wife and I had this year. If you want an honest contractor who will be straight forward with you rather than cut corners, he’s your guy. I would recommend him to anyone.

Rich resiliently remodeled our bathroom,its absolutely beautiful. We couldn't be more pleased with his work. He worked throughout the day while my husband and myself worked, he even worked a few late nights to make the deadline he gave us. He was every informative when it came to explaining what was taking place and what part of the project would come next. He was very polite with a wonderful personalty and he kept his work space very clean as well as my home. We will definitely be calling him for our next home projects. I can't say enough great things about Richard Shorter. He did a big project for me in my garage, insulated my water pipes in the attic, vented the bath vent and dryer vent to the side of the house and installed an outlet for my garage door. He is prompt, meticulous, leaves the area cleaner than when he started, is very knowledgeable and an expert contractor. I will be using him again to assemble my shed and probably other things that need to be done around the home I just purchased. He also has reasonable pricing. You can't get a better expert contractor for your job.

They have done many improvements to my home since 2008 and have always been the best, from window to door replacement, aluminum siding to tile work to hot water heater replaced or painting,cabinet replacement etc!

Give Me Shelter has completed a number of jobs for me at our house near the University of Delaware Campus. He always completes the jobs within the time frame promised and his results have always been as described or expected. Richard Shorter, who is the owner/operator, is a competent hard working professional who conducts his business the manner you would want all of your contractors to follow. He is fair, honest, effective, and delivers what he promises. I hired Give Me Shelter for several projects over the course of the past 6 years (since 2011). Those projects included: -installing a built-in desk -repairing concrete steps -installing new light fixtures -installing ice maker kit in refrigerator -repairing various plumbing leaks
