Our firm, Kari Architect, has worked with Simmons and Company for many years both in collaborative design and utilizing their vast expertise in kitchen design consulting and specifying. Tom Simmons is always available when needed for both clients and consultants and has the utmost professionalism while still having the collaborative nature of working together be extremely enjoyable!

I recently had the opportunity to work with Tom Simmons. He is very professional and he comes up with solutions in a timely manner. I felt an immediate friendship when I began working with him. His 3-D computer illustrations made it very easy to understand how intricate details needed to come together. If I had a problem in the morning which required a design solution, he would come out to the worksite that very afternoon with large-scale, 2-point perspective drawings which made the building phase a breeze. Tom was hired to assist with design of a Carriage House in upstate New York. His role was to create 3-D renderings in SketchUp, provide interior documentation and assist in specifications for appliances, millwork, plumbing fixtures and finishes. His contribution to the project provided the necessary tools for the owner to understand the design and for the contractor to execute the design. Thanks, Tom!

You couldn't hire a nicer guy than Tom; he was very pleasant to work with. He was patient, a good listener, designer and very knowledgeable of his field. His only negative was that he didn't take notes, so ideas had to be repeated, taking more time. We had certain things we wanted and didn't want and only so much space to work with. Tom went through every detail with us until we had the perfect plan for us. He also recommended many features which added functionality and beauty. We absolutely love our new kitchen and other renovations to the living area where Tom assisted us. We are grateful every day that we hired Tom and went through the trauma of a remodel. All the changes have brought new life to our home and made it immensely more usable.

We were very pleased with our working relationship with Tom Simmons. He is an excellent designer and is very knowledgeable with cabinetry options that include style, wood, color, finishes, etc. Ours was a large project that included individual styles and finishes for the kitchen and laundry room, master bedroom, office, entry hall and family room display cabinetry, and four bathrooms. The installation was handled by experienced craftsmen and very importantly met our deadline. We are extremely pleased with the finished products and would recommend him without hesitation.

Simmons and Company rescued us after a disastrous experience with another Santa Barbara kitchen designer. Tom and Marcy worked tirelessly to come up with the perfect design and they patiently dealt with all the changes we requested. Tom was especially patient--using his wonderful sense of humor to keep things running smoothly. Once we settled on a design, Marcy provided us with creative ideas for our backsplash, countertops, and cabinets. We wanted a white kitchen and although she encouraged us to use color she appreciated our need to stay with white. After our kitchen was done, Marcy came back on her own time and helped us choose a color for our kitchen and dining room walls. We are incredibly happy with our new kitchen and continue to get rave reviews from our friends.

Tom and his team were a joy to work with. A couple of years ago Simmons & Co. upgraded our kitchen. How great is it to find someone who has great design sense and can follow through with expert craftsmanship. Tom was able to source great appliances, surfaces, etc. We all brought ideas to the table and were able to come up with a great finished product. For a room that is the hub of our house it's nice that is is functional and inviting.
