From planning to completion, everything was extraordinary. The design they presented and executed is transformative, being both beautiful and extremely functional. Working with Beth, Marshal, their staff, and subs was a pleasure. They were friendly, open, honest and completed work efficiently, sticking to the presented time line. Spaces Renewed undertook a very complex & high-end, Design/Build renovation of our HOA property, which is a beachfront property on Ocean St. in Carlsbad, California. The work involved complete removal of the; roof, façade, windows and grounds of a 3 unit HOA building. In conjunction with this work they completely gutted and updated two of the units and performed significant updates on the 3rd unit. Their work is very high-end and professional, both on the design and construction sides of things. I can say this with complete confidence because I founded a construction company with several offices up and down the East coast of the US. I would have done this work myself since our company works all over the US, including in California but I’m still running my company and I believed that having someone local and knowledgeable (especially regarding the design aspects and local codes) would be the best way to proceed. They couldn’t have performed better, working diligently through all the challenges of; COVID, significant unforeseen moisture and termite damage and difficult building code requirements. Understanding their business well, I watched many times over when they chose to recommend and do the right thing, as opposed to taking the easy/cheap way out and were always reasonable on the cost of necessary change orders. Simply put, they treated both the design and the construction as if it was actually them owning and moving into the property and I can’t think of any higher compliment than that.

Spaces Renewed built a large addition to our home and it turned out beautiful! The addition included a brand new kitchen, office, bedroom and bath as well as a nice outdoor entertaining space. They completed the project on time, even during the peak of Covid. Their staff is very friendly and quick to respond to any questions.

My husband and I found Spaces Renewed when they were recommended by friends. They had been extremely happy with work SR had done on their home remodel. Taking on a complete home remodel is extremely overwhelming but Marshall, Beth, and their team walked us through it step by step and helped us make amazing design choices. Every surface of our home was touched and the finished product is even better than we could have imagined. Over the years, I have gone to many a home shows in San Diego. The Del Mar Home Show, in 2019, I had committed to myself that I was all "in" for the ultimate kitchen remodel. The comsummate professionals and absolute no pressure attitude of both, Marshall and Beth Booth, husband and wife team of Spaces Renewed were my choice. Marshall's design gave me the integrated the kitchen, dining and living room to accommodate gatherings, yet still maintain that intimate feel. His is detailed oriented, in all aspects,and responsive to all my concerns. Beth was able to incorporate my "must haves" into a functional modern kitchen. An amazing designer! Knowledgeable of products, vendors and trends, Beth was with me every step of the way, lending her expertise. I couldn’t have done it without her! Juan Ascencio, lead foreman kept things moving. The tradespeople were respectful, and professional. Functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship made my house into a forever home!

Working with Spaces Renewed on our home remodel(kitchen, 5 baths and flooring) was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I wasted 4 months with another contractor so finding Spaces Renewed was quite refreshing. From the first meeting I knew that I would be hiring them. The professionalism of their team is extraordinary. Beth Booth is an amazing designer. She knew that I wanted to have an input and her knowledge of products and vendors was unparalleled. Beth was with me every step of the way and I felt very good about the selection of materials prior to the start of the project. We had met Marshall and Beth at the Home show. Really loved their attitude and visions. Unfortunately we weren't quite ready to use their services. We kept their contact info for 3 years! We knew when we were ready to remodel ....they were our choice!! Our remodel was to add square footage to the master bedroom and add a completely new master bath. The job went very smoothly. I can't say enough great things about the subcontractors they used on our project. We lived in the house while the construction was in progress with ZERO disruptions to us. We are extremely happy with our remodel, thanks to Spaces Renewed. Marshall and Beth are so passionate about what they do and that passion produces amazing results. 8 years ago, we hired Marshall and Beth to complete a major remodel of our new forever home. They exhibited the highest level of quality and professionalism, which is why we trusted them again this year for our 2nd major renovation. Our 2018 remodel included 2 full bathrooms, the addition of a California Room, and a complete overhaul of both the front and backyard landscaping. It was a 7 month journey filled with high expectations and an evolving scope of work, and they lived up to the challenging task. Our bathrooms are model home quality with gorgeous design and impeccable craftsmanship. The California Room is noteworthy; it’s a tranquil outdoor living space complete with a fireplace, TV, surround sound, heaters, lighting, built-in BBQ, and the most beautiful masonry work. The backyard landscaping is in a league of its own with the addition of 46 trees to create complete and total privacy, our number one concern. The compliments we have received on our new backyard oasis are endless. Our front yard is also completely upgraded with new gates, walkways, sod, plants, and up-lighting. It is so beautiful; neighbors cannot walk by without commenting. I have meticulous attention to detail and like top quality service and products. Marshall and Beth are communicative, have great taste, and really understand the sensitivity to time and money. Their subs are conscientious and congenial, as well, very important when navigating the sometimes stressful situations. If you are looking for top notch quality work, you will not be disappointed in going with Spaces Renewed. It was worth every penny.

Spaces Renewed turned our non-descript kitchen into something you would find in a magazine. We loved working with Beth and Marshall as they helped us turned our ideas into reality and our dream kitchen. Beth has great skill in figuring out the small details to get the most of a new kitchen space and really worked to make our kitchen be both beautiful and functional. After discussing our total remodel for years, we finally decided to go for it and started shopping for a Design Build company. After talking to a few companies, we met Beth and Marshall really liked their approach to the design. They readily offered up references and we visited a couple of their projects and talked to their clients, all were very positive with their experience with Spaces Renewed. They were very patient with us an spent many months creating and modifying the design. Beth worked extensively with us on the interior design and Marshall was great as we worked through all of the decisions that need to be made for a complete renovation. His attention to detail and management of all of his subs was great. His subcontractors were all very good, we got compliments from our neighbors about how polite and considerate they were. He was quick to walk us through any issues, and there were a handful which is expected on a complete remodel of a 60 year old house. Bottom line, we were very satisfied with our experience with Beth and Marshall. The work was high quality and professional. The project stayed on schedule and the only cost increases were self-induced by our choices. Spaces Renewed has our highest recommendation!!!

We met Marshal and Beth at a home show in Del Mar. We knew from the moment we began talking to them that it was a good fit!. We had never done any large renovation projects and didn't know what to expect but had heard horror stories. All of the decisions which could be overwhelming, Beth made easy with her design sense and her suggestions. Renovation/Remodeling depending on the size of its scope, can be very stressful. The varying personalities between the builder and client can certainly add to the frustrations during the process. After all, it is your home and the cost involved could be enough to expect some rough moments. There were rough moments, but I couldn’t have picked a better team with Beth and Marshall Booth and their crew, of Spaces Renewed to deal with them. Our impression of Spaces Renewed team were consistent throughout the project; straight forward, honest, and “do it right” kind of company. They did not try to up-sell us but gave us the control to reinterpret some of the designs ourselves. Spaces Renewed accommodated our changes willingly and patiently, while still insisted and made sure we were building code compliant. They walked us through CAD drawings in their design center, showing our home layouts to fully visualize the project, which really got us very excited. Being able to visually see the entire scope of the project, and being able to work with Beth and Marshall on modifying certain spaces, eased a lot of our uncertainties and doubts. We started out with a home that was full to the brim of random furniture and stuff accumulated over 40 years by the previous owners. I felt comfortable with the crew and definitely felt they were trustworthy. They pointed out valuable things in the house we did not know about and advised us to handle and secure them ourselves. We commend Spaces Renewed for what they had to plow through and work around. They simply worked with us patiently and even helped us with a lot of things outside of their business scope in order to help us complete the project. Needless to say their ability to meet the deadline, not that we had one, was hindered by our own personal matters and to no fault of theirs. They had great and efficient budgeting systems set, but of course our own preferences and changes added to the cost. But ultimately, the results and their work quality made it all worth it. Our impression of Beth and Marshall of Spaces Renewed is that they run an honest business. They are straight forward, and did no sales pitching and up-selling. They initially work within the box to ensure code compliance and job done right, but provided a lot of flexibility to have our vision of the project come to fruition. We learned a lot from the experience as far as how to handle ourselves during the process, relate and work with the builder, and with dealing with the entire renovation. We love the advantages of a husband/wife design and contractor team. Their references gave them rave reviews. We've completed a detailed design phase which was an education in itself and we wound up with a plan that surpasses our hopes.. Now we are in week two of the construction phase which will probably take about four months. We are pleased with each of the crew and tradesmen who have so far participated. The on-going communication is optimized by a first rate internet based process. I've held off on the fifth star only because we have quite a few weeks of renovation ahead of us. We are more than thrilled with our Spaces Renewed renovation. We plan on using them again very soon.

Finding Marshall and Beth Booth of Spaces Renewed was like finding a treasure! After buying our home, we needed to find a company to handle a massive remodel to make our house look far more modern and contemporary -- inside and outside. We needed a company who understood our extremely high standards for esthetics and quality, and who would work with us on the budget -- we needed to keep the costs around half a million, other companies quoted us outrageous prices. Marshall and Beth kept the costs around our anticipated budget (even with a lot of changes and additions along the way). We couldn't be more pleased with Marshall and Beth! They were extremely professional and highly skilled masters of their craft. Their entire team was able to handle our massive remodel of our entire home, inside (entire kitchen, new glass & hardwood staircase, flooring on first and second floors, install new windows and glass sliding door, install LED lighting, painting inside and outside house) and outside (excavate our two large yards to install a modern luxury pool, an elevated 9' high sun deck with a spa, complete with waterfall from deck into pool, a gorgeous fire pit, various fire bowls and water features, with color-changing LED lighting in and around pool, install concrete and grass in yards, and plant beautiful plants all along the edges of our property, in addition to planting various fruit trees in our separate garden). Everyone on their team was professional and made this year-long project fly by. Even our neighbors commented on how nice and how professional all the workers were! We had strangers inside our house almost every day for over a year, and never once did we worry about safety or security. These folks were incredible trustworthy and have earned our trust. Marshall and Beth took the time to listen to all our (sometimes crazy and excessively luxurious) ideas, understand precisely what we wanted (an ultra-modern, luxurious home that felt more like a resort than a house), and worked with our budget to make it all happen at a reasonable cost. They kept us updated along the way and were always available when we had questions or began adding or modifying our plans. They were patient with us even when we were annoying, and even though they are busy, they always made time to meet with us and spend ample time going over our ideas. At every step of the way, they turned our dreams into reality. They built our dream house! The quality of their workmanship is top of the line, yet they charge reasonable prices and are more affordable than a lot of the larger companies. Quality of materials and workmanship was never sacrificed -- and we have extremely high standards, which they managed to not only meet, but to surpass. They transformed our rustic, Mediterranean home into the ultra-modern resort home we dreamed of! We will never use another company for any future work we may do down the road, and we will strongly recommend Spaces Renewed to everyone who needs a project done, big or small. Hiring a contractor can be a challenging endeavor at best. Getting said contractor to set reasonable expectations, communicate appropriate schedules, and actually 'show up' to execute is - well - hard. Beth and Marshall - Spaces Renewed - made all the above a non-issue. - They were very sensitive to our budget - As a Team, Beth and Marshall are the best -- Beth's focus is style/design and Marshall makes it happen - Once the contract was signed, they set an expectation of when the project would start and how long it would take - they 'nailed' it on both counts! - Each day there was a communication of what would take place - and that was completed by the end of the day or a new expectation was set - The SR crew was very focused on keeping a clean environment inside as well as outside the job area (they were also very customer friendly!) - The entire project was completed on time and on budget... even though there were a few unexpected add-ons - We could not be happier with the end results - Our new kitchen is awesome!

My wife and I recently purchased our first house which had too many walls and an awkward, angled kitchen. We got quotes from 3 different design-build companies to open up some walls and redo the kitchen and Spaces Renewed came back with a great design and a price within our budget. While we may have been able to save a bit of money going with a different company, Beth and Marshall were heads above when it came to organization, responsiveness, and providing us with a detailed plan so that we knew exactly where our money was going and what they were planning on doing. Both Beth and Marshall were very easy to work with and answered our emails and calls quickly, usually within the same day. They answered all of our questions and generally kept us informed about even the tiniest design changes that we otherwise would never have noticed. Beth met with us on multiple occasions to help in choosing appliances and accents that reflected our personal style and preferences, while at the same time never hesitating to let us know if she felt something would not look right. Marshall was great at explaining each step of the construction process. His crew was respectful and neat, and left our home very clean even after an extensive remodel. While this would have been a costly and time-intensive project with any company, their availability and detail-oriented approach made the remodel much less painful and anxiety-provoking than it otherwise could have been. We absolutely love our new kitchen and open concept living area and would not hesitate to hire Spaces Renewed again for future projects!

Working with Beth & Marshall Booth at Spaces Renewed was a pleasure throughout the whole process of our kitchen remodel. I met them at a home show in Del Mar and was impressed with their warm and professional demeanor right off the bat. However, we continued to meet with a few remodelers and had selected one that we thought would work (yes, cheaper). When we proceeded with “due diligence” by questioning his licensing, insurance and the request for a high deposit - he decided to NOT work with us! We had already purchased appliances and made countertop & backsplash selections - but were left hanging. We came back to Marshall & Beth and asked them to consider taking us on. Are we glad that they did! We believe we dodged a bullet with the first guy who wasn’t exactly working according to state laws. We had a pretty good idea of what we were looking to do with a portfolio of photos before we met. However, Beth was able to take those ideas and put a vision together quickly on her computer in their showroom. The quality of the American-made cabinetry is excellent. She provided advice throughout the project that kept us from making costly mistakes or losing focus on our vision. We can’t say enough good about Marshall and his construction team. They always arrived when scheduled, were pleasant, respectful and efficient. I called Pedro “The Beast” as he was skilled in many areas and dove right in to each task with determination. They sealed off areas of the house to minimize the impact on our life during construction. It is inevitable in any remodel project that there will be an unexpected “glitch”. Knowing that, you want to have someone like Marshall to take the reins calmly, make a few calls and get any issue quickly resolved. “It is what it is” was Marshall’s byline that we adopted throughout the project that kept us all looking forward to the finished product. The quality of the cabinetry and work done by the crew and subcontractors is exemplary. Spaces Renewed is not the team you want for cheap or quick. If you want quality results that are founded on integrity and thoroughness - then this is the team you for you. More than once I heard a team member say - “We just want it perfect for you!”. That’s what we got and it was worth every penny! I will continue to recommend Spaces Renewed, Marshall and Beth, to everyone who is considering a remodel project in their home.

We love the work that Marshall and Beth accomplished in our Vista kitchen and family room. The results are wonderful and they were charming to work with. We were simply going to reface the cabinets and put in new granite and a sink. But after giving them a chance to show us how they could make life easier in the kitchen the strategy made great sense. We hired Spaces Renewed for our kitchen remodel in 2014. Both Marshall and Beth were fantastic. We felt comfortable with their personalities, expertise, and ideas right away. One of the simple things they did in conducting themselves won us over - removing their shoes when they came into our house for the consult. No other contractor we talked to did that or even asked. It set the tone for how they would treat our house during the actual remodel - and it did hold true. The work was done with excellence and care to the rest of our home. Every day the worksite was cleaned and put back in order and we did not feel like a crazy construction zone. All the workers who were in our home working on the kitchen were very friendly and courteous. Beth was excellent at helping us with the design. We were concerned about making decisions we would later regret or having clashing colors/finishes. But Beth guided us along without being pushy and made us feel like we were designers! I could not be happier with my kitchen now - it is both functional and gorgeous to look at and cook in. I would recommend anyone considering a kitchen remodel to talk with Spaces Renewed!

We remodeled our kitchen last year and hired Beth and Marshall Booth as our Designer and Contractor. A wonderful choice. Beth and Marshall listened to our plans and ideas and carried out the execution wonderfully. We now have a space that is, not only truly functional, but beautiful as well. There were no real surprises AND was completed on time and within our budget! All their employees and sub contractors were awesome. Cannot say enough how impressed we were with them as a whole! I look forward to working with them when we remodel the Master Bathroom!!!

In a single, simple statement, Beth and Marshall were a delight to work with. They’re both very passionate about what they do, with giving the clients what they’re looking for being a top priority. A few of the things that impressed us: Beth and Marshall visited the house to do a preliminary look at what they’d be working with and get our ideas about what we wanted. Two weeks later, we visited their office by which time Beth already had a 3D conceptual layout of our kitchen design on the computer, and Marshall had a preliminary proposal including pricing. Also, their initial bid came in just 10% over what we told them was our budget, which was great considering what we wanted to have done. This was also in contrast to two other potential contractors we had talked to. One, after two months was not responding to emails in which we were asking what we needed to do in order to get even a rough estimate. We had initially talked to the third contractor at the same time as Beth and Marshall, but he came in 50% over max budget, not even considering some of the must-haves and not telling us what he would do for the money. Never having been through a major renovation, before signing the contract I had a lot of trepidation about the potential for cost growth on those items that were “allocations”. After it was clear that we were going to sign (assuming the cost was ok), Beth went on a couple of shopping trips with us to actually pick tile, granite, appliances and fixtures. This was very reassuring that we could get materials, appliances, etc. we would be happy with, within the budget constraints, and not having to worry about cost growth. Along the same lines, they were very sensitive to budget constraints. They stated up front that they’re probably not the cheapest, but they did understand our cost concerns and didn’t just go crazy with the plans. They suggested options to keep cost down but still get what we wanted. In particular, they didn’t object to me doing some of the work and handling demo/disposal, which saved a significant amount. From what I’ve heard, it’s unusual for a contractor to allow the homeowner to actively participate in such a project! They were very patient. We started talking with Beth and Marshall in late March. Due to our own time constraints, it took until early August to get to signing the contract; but they understood and didn’t push. After work started, there were a couple of minor misunderstandings with Marshall over what he was planning to do in a couple of areas; the misunderstandings were because I wasn’t getting the information we were looking for but it turned out that was because I simply wasn’t asking the right questions. The point here is that Marshall was very patient and stuck with it until we were able to clarify what I was asking! They were adaptable and creative. As work progressed, some potential issues came up, both with the original construction of the house (e.g. wall square/plumb issue) and with the City inspector (e.g. wanted a pre-existing vent moved). In these cases, Marshall would give me a heads up … but then he and the team would just handle the issues, usually without any further need to discuss. Beth and Marshall have an excellent team of skilled trade people with whom they’ve worked for a long time. I tend to be very picky about such things as quality of work, and they met even my expectations! I had the opportunity to meet and talk with several of the team; they were all very personable, knowledgeable about their craft, and seemed happy to educate me on what they were doing. We didn’t start with a specific timetable because, as Marshall explained, there are just too many variables to put a specific date on each activity. However, aside from a couple of weeks lost to permitting and City inspection, his original estimate for completion was very close to reality. All in all, what probably sums it up best is that, based on reports from friends and acquaintances who have gone through projects such as ours, I can’t imagine a remodel of this size going any smoother than ours did. As a result Spaces Renewed would be the first (and probably only) stop to discuss any future project.

Marshall and Beth are a great team. Marshall really knows construction and cares almost more than we do that everything comes out perfectly and Beth brings a great design eye to the remodel. They both had great ideas, but also worked with us as teammates to come up with a final design that leaned heavily on their outstanding professional knowledge and design flair, but also incorporated our ideas and preferences. Their team was pleasant and respectful while working in our home. Any of our friends who came by to see the project in process were amazed at how tidy the work area was for the scale of the project. (kitchen and reconfiguration from living room/dining room into one great room) We love the way it all turned out and we get unsolicited, huge compliments from almost everyone who comes into our home. And most importantly, it is all much more functional and yet aesthetically pleasing at the same time that we really love both hanging out and entertaining others here.

Spaces Renewed is a great company managed by a contractor-designer husband & wife team. Beth has a keen eye for design complimented by Marshall's high professional level of construction expertise. It was a real advantage for us to consult with both of them during the initial consultation, and the computer generated plans gave us a real good sense of what the end product would look like. From start to finish they were pleasant and courteous in every way showing a full degree of trustworthiness and honesty. The contractual documents were clearly itemized with plenty of detail, and all our questions were addressed with great care. They had a very skillful work crew that showed careful attention to every detail, including thorough cleanup at the end of every work day. They were always responsive to any questions or requests we had. Workdays were very consistent with no delays, which made the project come in on schedule. Everything worked out to be right on budget, and the final results far exceeded our expectations. We have no hesitation in giving Beth and Marshall the highest rating, and recommending their company to anyone who wants a thoroughly professional job done.
