Stephen Davis Home Designs is a first class outfit! My wife and I were looking to build our dream home on Fort Loudon Lake in East Tennessee to entertain our friends and family. This is the 6th house that we've owned and the 3rd one that we built so we had some very specific requirements to incorporate based on all our "learnings" over the year and some very unique features we wanted. Stephen David and his team were able to provide a very close match to our requirements with their first draft for us to iterate on... huge open floor plan to entertain, sized and oriented on our property to accommodate a sloping lot to the lake, lake views from almost every room, a very customized basement to include many special features that we've taken from our prior homes, and a garage angled creatively to maximize views and accommodate a circular driveway that we added at the last minute. Stephen Davis and his team (especially Gus Carodine III) were super flexible, creative and very accommodating in their approach and design sessions with my wife and I. Gus spend hours listening to our ideas and dreams and found a way to incorporate all of them into the design of our home. He also above and beyond to put us in touch with multiple builders, surveyors, structural engineers, etc during the early stages of our process and answered many questions about building a home in East TN (my wife and I were locating from the Northeast, so the guidance and coaching was invaluable for us). We are now at the end of our build process and Gus and the rest of the Stephen Davis team have been intimately engaged from beginning to end answering questions and making multiple "small tweaks" to the design as we interjected new ideas/asks along the way. Its the seemingly small things that really mattered to me during this process, and the ability to run ideas and concepts back and forth to get their insight and guidance was huge. The willingness to answer the phone and respond quickly to emails and texts (even on weekends) was a level of service and dedication I really appreciated! In early 2023, we began working with Stephen Davis Home Designs (SDHD), LLC in Knoxville TN to customize one of their designs, "the Olivia" plan. Having in the past worked with an architect to design our existing lakefront home, we had pretty high expectations for SDHD. Gus and his team not only met those expectations, they exceeded them in every way. Our final home design is beautiful; we expect to start construction in Spring 2024. Gus melds artistic architectural creativity with adept mastery of the computer design skills so necessary today. Starting with an existing SDHD plan that we liked, we were able to quickly identify and implement many custom features that were important to us. The entire process of working together in front of a large, high-definition screen to make these changes, and try out some new ideas, was very efficient and kept the architectural costs down significantly (as compared to our previous experience). What made this experience actually enjoyable, was the entirely personable and cooperative nature of the primary person we worked with, Gus. We looked forward to our plan review meetings, and often we were reluctant to leave. He consistently ensured we were happy with the end product! We strongly recommend SDHD for your custom home design, and ask for Gus!

Stephen Davis Home Design, LLC is the company that our home builder uses for their architectural design services. We worked with Gus Carrodine throughout the entire process. Gus did a great job on our plans. We had not anticipated that we would be required by our county :( to provide some, so the cost was not expected. That said, Gus was very prepared and professional. He showed us what he came up with based on what our contractor told him. Then he listened to our questions and ideas and made suggestions when we asked for them.

We had the pleasure of working with Gus Carodine at Stephen Davis Home Designs. It was among the most professional, pleasurable experiences we have experienced. My husband and I are attorneys with a keen eye for details and high expectations. At every turn, Gus exceeded those expectations. He provided us with a floor plan of our dream home based on one of there model plans but with our modifications. He provided suggestions along the way to guide us, but was never pushy and was always very polite. He worked quickly without sacrificing quality. We could not be more pleased. He must be a person of extreme character and a person of faith as his kindness and good heartedness showed. Further, not only was Gus, as the architect, excellent, the support staff was also wonderful. Kim, the front desk receptionist, is kind with a wonderful sense of humor. They both treated us well including when we had to bring our newborn son to appointments. Last, we are racial minorities and are particularly interested in fair and equal treatment wherever we do business. We got that fair and equal treatment at Stephen Davis Home Designs. Stephen Davis was strategically helpful, quick to find a solution, and honest with recommendations that saved us cost. Gus was absolutely a pleasure to work with, had ingenious ways to save space/utilize space, and took the time to fully understand our needs.

Everyone at the office is very helpful and courteous. All of our questions were answered in a timely manner. This was our first time dealing with a remodel and using an architect. The process was smooth and uneventful. Mr Davis had lots of great ideas and listened to our concerns as well. We are very excited to get started on our project.
