Our sales team, headed by Charley Clarke have perpetual in house training and have become very versatile in offering a design and installation service, if required. The scale of projects undertaken can vary greatly, from sourcing the perfect sandstone finish for a beloved bearded dragon, to supplying multiple hotel sites. We placed an order with Stoneworks on the 7th July for some tiles for a large job we are undertaking, the delivery date we selected was for the 29th July a good 4 weeks after order. The tiles were nowhere to be seen. We then had to ring stoneworks every day for 2 weeks trying to sort this out, sometimes 2-3 times a day and were given excuses and promises or on some occasions just been ignored. Still no tiles... Due to us being unable to complete the job on time our client subsequently told us that they won’t be using our company any longer. This is due to us having to hold off all work on the property for 2 weeks as we could do nothing there until the tiles that we ordered with stoneworks are installed. We were instructed to complete this job for our client on the basis that we will complete the work on time in the small window given to us. We ordered the tiles needed a long time in advance (4 weeks) and were assured by email that they did in fact have those tiles in stock, we understand from Stoneworks that they were dispatched and damaged by their courier company. This wasn’t our fault and in reality you should have sent out another dispatch of the tiles to us immediately, a good business that values customer care would have done this without even having to ask. We had to chase the delivery of the tiles as they never arrived before you they knew what had happened to them. Once stoneworks managed to find out what had happened they actually told us that they did in fact have more of the tiles in stock, why had those not been sent to us? 2 weeks after expected delivery date and despite all of our correspondence to them in frustration, we still had not received the tiles or have any idea or inclination as to when and if they would arrive. Had they said they didn’t have them or that there would be a problem getting them to us then we could have searched elsewhere to find another supplier and everything would have been fine. We have since (12th August) cancelled our order with stoneworks and ordered the tiles from another company – who delivered the tiles within 24hrs!!! In addition to the loss of our client we also had a tiler booked in for 2 weeks after expected delivery – we couldn’t use him and have had to pay them a loss of earnings. To say we are unhappy or displeased with stoneworks is an understatement, not only have we lost a job we are currently working on, we have also lost our client and any future work that comes from them. Not to mention the costs to ourselves or the stress involved in having to deal with the situation. Stay clear of Stoneworks
