Stonehenge Construction were extremely helpful before, during and after our kitchen and master bath remodel. Their professionalism and dedication enabled the project to come in on time and slightly under budget. They choose to work with a range of skilled craft people and sub contractors, with whom they have long standing relationships. This meant that the daily schedule Stonehenge provided for the entire project was adhered too. Karen was also a big help during the design process. I appreciated her ability to work with our budget and ideas.

Stonehenge did a beautiful job on our new office. I had been holding onto an inspiration picture of an office for awhile, and after going to the local Remodeled Home Tours one weekend, and meeting and admiring the work of Michael McKechnie of Stonehenge Construction, LLC, we were ready to go ahead and build our new office. It ended up being more beautiful than my inspiration picture!!! Once we contacted Michael, he was very prompt in meeting with us. He took my inspiration picture, made some measurements, and came back with a design that we really liked. He understood everything we wanted and more!!! He offered some sage advice on aesthetics with shelving that went all the way to the ceiling molding, pull out shelving to hide our printer and router that we didn’t want showing, finishing touches, etc. He worked on ensuring that I got the drawer pulls that I wanted, the wall paint color was what I wanted, the desk top stain matched our current hardwood flooring, and that the molding all blended with the existing molding. He even went into so much detail as to address electrical plugs, with USB ports, etc. I only have wonderful things to say about the carpenter, painters, and electrician that Michael had come out. I’ve never seen such quality carpentry and paint job…they were SPECTACULAR. They took their time and used quality materials, paint, and skills. And, last but certainly not least, I have to express how happy I was with the schedule and price. The job from start to finish was less than 3 weeks, and the pricing was the same as the original quote which was unbelievable considering how many stories I have heard about delays and cost overruns in projects from other people.

We recommend Stonehenge Construction without reservation. They assisted us through out the project and we appreciated their extensive knowledge of construction. Their selection of subcontractors was excellent and combined with their expert understanding of our projects special requirements culminated with an incredible result. We stayed with in the cost estimates and completed the project in a timely fashion. We LOVE it!

Karen McKechnie and the whole team at Stonehenge are Amazing! Her eye for design is unmatched. And the fact that she gives time lines on every single detail of the project BEFORE it begins is Outstanding! We recommend her frequently and have worked with her consistently for 15+ years. I have known and worked with Karen for several years, she is very honest and professional. She has a great understanding for remodeling especially in the kitchen area. Her work quality is at the top of the list and she is loyal to her subs, as they are to her. Her son's have joined her at Stonehenge now and I can say this is one great family.

Stonehenge Construction has worked on several home projects for us, both major and minor during the last 10 year period. We are extremely happy with the sun room and porch additions to our house. Most of their subcontractors have worked for the company for a long time and the finished product is always very nice. It is a family business and everyone is extremely nice to work with. I would recommend this company very highly for any type of home remodeling job.

We were very happy with all aspects of our home addition that Stonehenge Construction completed for us. From design through the final punch list, they handled all phases of the project. We talked to several contractors before we started but Stonehenge provided a superior design because they listened to what we wanted. After the construction began, they communicated with us almost daily about decisions and issues as they arose so we all stayed on the same page throughout the process. There were no hidden or surprise costs because they showed us all the costs up front and any change orders along the way, we signed off on. There subcontractors were all very professional and respectful and did quality work. I talked to most all of the subcontractors while they were there and made sure they understood what we wanted and I was never disappointed with the skill and professionalism they exhibited. One of the important aspects of our project was that you could not tell that our new addition was an addition. Now that it is complete, I would have to point out what we added on. It is not possible to tell the old from the new, which is exactly what we wanted. Stonehenge was not the cheapest quote we received for our project but in the end we got exactly what we wanted, and are very happy with the quality of their work. I suspect we would have paid just as much with other contractors because of hidden costs but we would not have been as happy with the quality. I would recommend Stonehenge to anyone interested in a remodel or addition to their existing home. In fact, we are already working with Stonehenge to remodel some upstairs bedrooms for our next project.

I recently did a remodel of both my master bath and my powder room. I know what I like when I see it, but creating it is sometimes a challenge for me. Karen, the designer and president of Stonehenge, was wonderful to help lead me through that process. I must have had four different designs that I considered and she patiently advised me about each of them. She would meet me at the sub-contractors place of business to help me choose a counter top or a type of tile. If I asked for advice she was able to suggest ideas, but the final decision was mine. She came up with some very original ideas for my bathroom that I had never seen. I decided to incorporate them and I love them! My project manager was Eric and he was always attentive, polite and responsive to my needs. Having my master bath gutted was stressful for me and there were times I was on the "picky" side. He never became upset with me or acted like I was a "problem customer." The financials were handled in a very transparent manner by giving me a copy of the sub-contractors invoice to Stonehenge. I always felt like they were honest and truthful with me about everything and any difficulties that arose. Because of the plumbing in my bathroom, a pocket door could not be installed in a cost efficient way and we had to change to a barn door. I found what I wanted at an antique store and they made it work. The door looks amazing as do both of my bathrooms. I would not hesitate to refer my friends to this company.

We hired Stonehenge Construction for a kitchen update which included all new appliances, new countertops, new under- and above-cabinet lighting, some cabinet modification, new backsplash & wall tile, and a new sink. Karen McKechnie and her staff were an absolute joy to work with. Every step from the beginning through completion was handled thoroughly, professionally, and in a timely manner. She provided us with a complete budget beforehand and we were given copies of all the bills afterwards. Karen has a keen eye for detail and, before the job even started, spotted some mistakes in my selections that we were able to correct ... which saved us a lot of money and aggravation. She was very responsive when I had questions -- no matter how frequently -- and explained things in a very understandable way. All of the start dates she gave us for her various sub-contractors were met and the job was completed on schedule and on budget. In addition to her knowledge and expertise, Karen has an incredible array of sub-contractors, all of whom have been working with her for years. Without exception, they were prompt, courteous, capable, knowledgeable, and extremely neat. Every one of them left things spotless when they were done. I cannot recommend Karen and Stonehenge highly enough. She exceeded our expectations and made the entire experience a real pleasure. When our kitchen was completed, we told her we wish we had more projects for her to do!!

Stonehenge Construction has been a God-send to us. They were honest right from the start and went out of their way to revise house plans, quotes and projects as our budget allowed. Karen held our hand through the entire process (ideas, design, drafts, style, etc.). We didn't know what we wanted other than we knew we needed a change. Karen had excellent ideas that complimented our style and budget. Eric was an excellent project manager keeping us abreast of all the minute details and allowing us time to consider the options ourselves. He was there everyday checking on the status and even doing some of the work himself in effort to save us money and speed up the project. The contractors used by Stonehenge were always on time and within (or under budget). If we decided on a change during the project they were able to quote on the spot and make the change right away. They were respectful of our house and our day to day family life and we were never concerned to leave them alone in the house. We will definitely use Stonehenge for future projects and highly recommend them to anyone desiring a remodel.
