Our desire for creating bold, organic and contemporary spaces has earned us a reputation as one of Los Angeles top design companies. Whether it's an individual room, an entire residence, or a commercial building, we work closely with our clients to understand their taste and functional needs, utilizing a mixture of styles, textures, and natural elements when creating a unique space that truly encompasses our client's individuality. At Studio 9, our design process and construction phase are accomplished by attention to detail, constant communication with our clients, architects, and contractors. Client satisfaction, honesty in design decisions, practicality, project analysis, and budget allocation is an integral part of each project. We provide our clients with living spaces that emulate a sense of pride. Raquel Contreras is a renowned American designer and taste-maker known for her enchanting take on interiors. As a California native who relocated to Boston and found her way back home to the City of Angels, Raquel has experienced two very different worlds bringing them together as one. Working with contractors, designers, and architects from both the East and West coast, she has developed her own style gaining inspiration from flashy Hollywood Glamour and the traditional style of Commonwealth Avenue in Boston.

Raquel is a joy to work with! Her professionalism and timeliness made for a very enjoyable experience. The client was very impressed with her use of materials & finishes and knowledge of manufacturers to provide options to choose from. Raquel is such a professional person to work with she try’s to make everything easy and smooth and just the persona she is. Every project we had worked on together she gave good instructions and everything came out well the first time never had any project returned every client has been a pleased and happy client.

I am a real estate and interior design photographer and I got to meet Raquel after shooting some of the rooms she designed for clients. I felt in love with Raquel aesthetic because she knows how to optimize the space and functionality of a room while making it very beautiful. I really like her choice of wallpaper, flooring, furniture, accessories, drapes, because of their quality, but also because of the feeling they communicate. Her design will make you very happy and will be with you for a very long time: A functional ageless design that looks beautiful years and years. Shall I mention that Raquel is a wonderful person? Knowing that we have 4 kids she made a design where kids had easy access for their snacks without having to climb on counters. Thank you Studio 9 for turning my studio into my perfect study space! From the collaboration, the patience, and attention to detail, Raquel was the absolute best. After moving back to LA for school, she truly turned my apartment into a place I can happily call home. I definitely know who to contact after I upgrade in a few years :)

Raquel did an absolute fabulous job at my place. For someone that had no idea what they were looking for, she presented me with all sorts of options that were geared towards my taste. I only had a rough idea of what I liked, and she was able to paint the entire picture. She was patient with me all along the way and went above and beyond my expectations. She was extremely attentive helpful and I cannot recommend her enough.

Working with Raquel at Studio 9 has been a very pleasant experience. At first my husband and I were a bit hesitant to hiring an interior designer for our home remodel, however after meeting Raquel all those negative feelings went away! She made us feel super comfortable with the design process; from the start she understood the love we have for a few of our current pieces that are heirlooms and could not get rid of. Elegant yet modern solutions were introduced that fit both our current and new furniture pieces that we will love for many years to come! Raquel was very flexible with our hectic schedules and was always timely and precise. This project became a huge family affair both for her, her team, and my team, aka my family!
