We have worked with Sudbury Granite on dozens of projects. They are professionals, in all aspects. They have kept our jobs on schedule, and on high quality standards, and that means a lot. They have always dealt fairly with us, even when things were complicated.
Touring the floor is a something that you just need to experience, if you have a project. Walking through the rows of granite slabs and picking your own countertop is pretty cool.
Also, there are a lot of options you may not think about. I never knew I would like Suede texture in Granite until I saw it.
In our many projects together, Sudbury Granite has been very good, including sales and selections, scheduling, templating, installation, and service.

Terrible experience with this company!
We worked with the Connecticut branch to buy our granite countertops for our kitchen. The initial experience with the company was great and the customer service prior to installation left us with no complaints. Shortly after our countertops were installed (less than 3 months) we were left with rings (not water rings) on our countertops where it looked as though the seal of our countertops were removed. We called the company to see what was going on. It took over 5 weeks to get the owner to come out and look at our countertops. He said he was going to do some preliminary testing to see if he could replicate the issue. He promised us he would be getting back to us in 2 weeks with his findings. 2 weeks came and went with no response from anyone at this company. We called and left messages and it took several days to get a returned phone call at which the owner asked for a few more days to come up with a finding. Those days YET AGAIN came and went without any form of communication. At this point we called the company AGAIN to follow up. The owner then wanted to come and try to re-seal or republish the countertop (was given conflicting answers to what the service call was to entail) to see if this would fix the problem but wanted to charge $250 for the service call to fix a defective product that they installed from the get go. Why should I pay this company yet again for something that may not fix my already defective product? When I questioned this and asked what will happen if this does not remedy the problem no other solution from the owner was provided.
Worst customer service after installation I have ever experienced with a company! The company's mission statement claims "Our mission is to ensure that granite, marble, and all unique exotic and beautiful stones are available and attainable to all who desire them. We aspire to combine the beauty and durability of natural stone with unequalled personalized attention for all our patrons. We pledge to faithfully implement innovative techniques in order to assure that our products remain affordable to all those who admire natural perfection and guarantee delivery of our products within ten days without sacrificing quality or excellence." In my opinion they have not upheld their end of this and will NEVER buy from this company again.
If I could rate this company with 0 stars I would. I am shocked the owner operates his business this way. Very disappointing when you spend this kind of money on something and the company shows no interest in helping you rectify your problems after they have already taken your money.

Dear Client,
We at Sudbury Granite work very hard to educate our clients about the characteristics of natural stone (dry veins/ surface pits) and how to properly maintain their stone for years to follow. All of our sales representatives provide their clients with a pamphlet which explains in detail, how to properly care, seal, and maintain their natural stone. Due to the fact that it is natural stone there are going to be imperfections.
At the initial selection of your slab no defects were present. The ring marks you are referring to was brought to our attention a few months after the counters were installed. When we went to do an evaluation it was to our surprise to see so many ring marks left on the stone. It was stated that the ring marks were from a cup of water. For us, this was a new occurrence with this material. We asked to give two weeks to do some testing and form a hypothesis. After 3 weeks of testing a sample of the stone and consulting with the stone processor in Brazil, we were not able to replicate the ring marks on the same material that were claimed to be from a cup of water. We are still in the process of trying to replicate the issue using different products, liquids, etc.
Due to the fact that we do not know exactly what caused the ring marks, we suggested having the surface re–polished to fix the issue. There was a disagreement for a charge of $250.00 to provide this service. This fee was to have one of our polishers to travel from MA to CT to polish the stone counter top and see if it would help remove the ring marks. A mutual agreement for this service offered was not obtained therefor a polisher did not go to the residence.
Sudbury Granite and Marble as a company, simply cannot be held responsible for how the clients choose to maintain and care for the stone after we complete the installation. We continue to please many clients after 15 years in the business of natural stone. We do the best possible job to educate our clients on how to carefully clean, seal, and maintain their natural stone for years to come.

Sudbury Granite was a pleasure to work with and completed the work on time and on budget. It was a straightforward bathroom vanity replacement -- changing out marble that had been permanently stained and putting in a Vetrazzo remnant.

We made over a small full bathroom, we went to a few different places looking for flooring and granite. We chose Sudbury Granite because they had the largest selection of granite and marble and the best prices. They had many large remnant pieces to choose from (as well as full slabs). They also had an excellent tile selection. I changed my mind a couple of times on what we ordered and they were very accomodating. We chose a porcelain ceramic tile for the floor. The installer was excellent, he was very polite respectful and professional. We love the floor, it is our favorite piece of our bathroom. I highly recommend Sudbury Granite.

Sudbury Granite has the worst business practices of any company I have ever dealt with. Their practice is to only charge you for the actual square footage of your project, which sounds like a great way to save money. The problem is, they will use even the areas of granite that would be "waste" for other companies to maximize each slab which will leave you with an unacceptable finished product.
My first visit to Sudbury Granite did not go well. Despite having an appointment, I was practically ignored and left without picking out granite for my project. After doing a ton of research on my own, my second appointment resulted in me picking granite for both a kitchen and 1/2 bath remodel. I was shown slabs for approval. As the company must really be pushing their sales team to minimize waste, I was told that the bar area would need a seam. I asked multiple times as I did not want a seam on the bar area and told that it would almost certainly need a seam once it went to templating because of it's size. Although it is not what I wanted, I was told that it would probably be the only way to do it. It wasn't until I discussed this with my contractor that he informed me that the measurements were well within the ability to cut it in one piece. He returned to Sudbury Granite with this information and my bar top was thankfully cut in one piece. Had I not had a contractor willing to fight for me, Sudbury would have given me an inferior product by misleading me with inaccurate information.
Unfortunately, the bad business practices did not end there. When picking granite, I was show 2 slabs with a vein running diagonally across the far corner of the pieces. Again, templating was discussed. In most places, that would have been a waste piece, but I was told that they would be able to stick that piece under a cabinet where it would be hardly noticeable. We discussed two possible corners to put it in. When the granite was delivered, however, the vein was running right through the center of my island! That is the one place I had emphasized would be unacceptable.
The company was immediately called by my contractor but dodged his phone call for days. He finally had to go down to Sudbury Granite to get anyone to talk to him. Not only did the owner indicate that my contractor's business did not matter to him since he ran a "7 million dollar company", he was completely unwilling to take any responsibility for fixing the product. When asked if he would accept that in his home he replied that he was there when the island when it was templated, but since the vein wasn't tagged he used it. The two problems with this statement are 1. It is not the customers fault if the salesperson fails to tag the slab properly, and 2. He continued to use an unacceptable piece just to save himself a few bucks.
I've had to resort to stopping payment and dealing with this through my credit card company. Here's the real kicker... In reviewing the charges with the credit card company, I realized that Sudbury Granite charged me for the counter top for the 1/2 bath that I NEVER received.! ( I was told it was taken off the order, but it never was) Just think, if they had done the job correctly, I never would have caught that
one.
In compiling information for my credit card dispute, I've had 2 granite companies come in to give estimates. Both have stated that the granite never should have been cut that way and that they have heard many of these complaints about this company. Now that I have found another company, I can't even begin to tell you the difference it is to deal with honest people that are invested in supplying the best finished product possible. Find an HONEST company and a good contractor. Both are invaluable.

To all of our customers,
We at Sudbury Granit & Marble do our best to meet a client’s expectations. Our staff works hard to spend time with all of our clients, appointment scheduled or not, to select material and educate them on what to expect when purchasing natural stone.
All clients are given the opportunity to view and select the individual slabs that will be used to fabricate their project. At times, it can be overwhelming for some to view over 100 colors available at our Mendon warehouse. Our staff works hard to guide clients through the process of finding the right color and pattern for each and every project.
We do take the time to explain to customers the natural characteristics of natural stone. Veins, fissures, surface pits occur naturally and can be found in every slab sold to fabricate countertops. When there is a natural feature within a selected slab a client does not want to use, we do our best to work around the area, but we do strongly express to each person that it may not be possible to avoid it entirely. We explain the templating process and the many factors that determine the size and shape of the individual pieces that could be used to create their new space. Our technician’s review a client’s selections and review the area template with each client, giving them another opportunity to review their choices and to understand the overall process.
In regards to the Tahoe material used to fabricate the island below, there were only two slabs available at the time the client selected material for their 80 square foot project. An additional seam was offer on the island to accommodate the client’s request to not have the vein on the island, but the client opted for no seams. Based on the size and shape of the island, and the size and shape of the other pieces needed for the project, it was not possible to place this piece on either slab selected to avoid the vein. (See photos). As you can see in the photos, piece number three (3) corresponds to the island in question. Based on the size and shape of all the pieces required to complete this project, it would not be possible to place piece number three (3) on either slab selected and avoid the multiple veins on the island section without placing it on another piece within the kitchen.
Our Accounting Department did acknowledge and correct the billing error regarding the incorrect charge processed in relation to the vanity that was not template or installed. The error was discovered during a routine internal audit, prior to the credit card dispute. The homeowner was promptly issued the proper credit.
Our goal at Sudbury Granite & Marble is to give each and every client a positive experience when creating their new space. We realize renovation projects, of all types, can be stressful and overwhelming at times. We do our best to work with clients to answer their questions and meet their expectations, but errors can happen. When they do, we work hard to correct.
