I rarely leave reviews, but I would be remiss to not acknowledge the professionalism, care, and quality I received from Keen for our massive stair renovation project. Our Home Reno project consisted of a complete stripping of three staircases worth of carpet, and installing hardwood on each set of stairs + new railings. First, let’s talk about how competitive Keen’s pricing is. Our home is quite old (nearly 60 years) and required a lot of work to modernize and safeguard the stairs. I contacted 6 other contractors and was quoted between $15K and $20K. With Keen, I was quoted a third of that, taxes in. Amazing! Already, Keen was a sure thing based on that quote alone, and the quality of the work he showcased on his website. I thought that such a competitive price meant compromising quality. I am happy to say I was wrong! Keen’s work is amongst some of the highest quality we have had done on our home. The hardwood is stellar quality, and his workmanship is a form of art. Keen does not compromise his craft; you can tell he takes great pride in his work by his patience and dedication. He is passionate about his work, and treats the home as if it is his own. He is also incredibly clean, which I really appreciated. Keen was on time and ready to work day after day. I never worried about timelines as Keen was on it! He was honest (we had a lot of questions about different materials, colours etc), and he was patient in explaining things to us. I trusted Keen wholeheartedly; we even gave him a key to let himself in to work! That alone speaks to how trustworthy he is. Even with some hiccups during our renovation project (such as poor weather conditions), Keen adapted & thrived. I have no complaints about the quality of service Keen offered me, and I proudly leave this review in hopes Keen gets more and more business. I would highly recommend Keen to anyone, anywhere, anytime. In fact, I have asked Keen to come back in the Spring of 2019 to do an overhaul of our main floor & basement’s flooring. Keen and Zaman did a great job refinishing our stairs. Keen met with me and scoped the project and timeline and stuck to that timeline. The guys were always very professional and kept our project and safety top of mind with two small children. I would highly recommend TFC Flooring for your next stair/flooring project.

I had both my staircases refinished. Sanded and stained the steps and handrails, replaced all the pickets and painted the stringers and risers white. Very content with the end result.

Just finished two sets of stairs and I'm so pleased with the results. Actually it looks better than I could have imagined. Keen was very professional and was very careful to make sure everything looked seemless. He is very creative and looks for solutions to difficult areas. Top quality is often an overused term to describe at best mediocre quality. How refreshing to happen upon Keen, who truly does manifest all the values of quality! His commitment to quality and concern for “doing it right” is manifested in both his approach to the job and the final results. My home posed many flooring and stairs challenges which Keen easily overcame. Letting a stranger into your house can be intimidating. Having met and discussed the project with Keen and watching him work erased all points of concern. His level of consciousness and respect for my home and contents were obvious from the start. My confidence in Keen gave me the comfort to let him work alone in my home. I am extremely pleased with the work that was done. For anyone seeking new stairs and/or hardwood flooring...I would highly recommend Keen!

We had our Living/Fireplace Room hardwood floors refinished. We took a pre-finished 3/4" Cherry Oak & turned it into an Ebony/Mahogany masterpiece! After the initial consultation, in which he described the scope of work to be completed, the job commenced on time & was completed within the timeframe specified. The installer worked with us to test stain colours prior to the complete application. The finished product came out better than replacing the floor and looks 10x better in our opinion. We look forward to putting hardwood floors upstairs & using TFC for that project. UPDATE: After a few months of normal indoor wear & tear the "diamond like coating" that was applied scratches worse than the old floors factory finish. We are disappointed in this aspect of the job.
