I did not have a good experience with Steve. Ordered stair treads, doors and a live edge slab. Stair treads and doors were fine. He shipped my live edge slab shorter than I needed. Wouldn’t send a new one. Wanted to make filler pieces even though we did not. So we gave the fillers a shot. He never intended on fixing just led us on for months. He has held my project up for almost a year. Beware when dealing with him, he gets your money first and you get whatever he sends you

Unfortunately I didn’t have a good experience with HF. I had great conversations with them leading up to my order. I ordered and received about 24 precut oak treads. Initially the treads were gorgeous and beautifully finished. The treads were installed on an open riser staircase across 4 flights. Within a couple of years some of the treads started to warp, buckle and split. I contacted both STACEY and Steve and was promised a few replacement treads for the ones that were really bad. I even offered to pay for the shipping and they said that the replacement treads would be sent at HF’s expense. After sending photos and numerous emails I never heard from them again. I can’t recommend them. I don’t understand how they have all the “positive” reviews as that was not my experience with them.

Steve was great! We went out to his warehouse, and he helped us pick out the wood for our bar, bar top, & mantel. We did the bar out of reclaimed barnwood and beams, we chose a massive black walnut slab for the bar top...Steve's crew sanded and buffed it until it was as soft as a baby's bottom! I get so many compliments on that and my Oak mantel. He also did the rusty tin for the stair risers, he sanded it and coated it with poly, so it's nice & smooth. This company is phenomenal. Absolutely awesome. Steve, Stacey and staff are AMAZING and so very easy to work with. He's in Tennessee, I'm in Florida--sent him a pic and I was shipped some of the most beautiful shiplap I have ever seen. His measurements by just looking at my pics were right on. He corresponded promptly on every detail and offered fantastic design options. Hey Chip and Joanna!! You've got to do business with this guy!! YOU WILL NOT be disappointed in his product or his staff. Such a wonderful experience in a kitchen re-do. So in love with my kitchen island! Check it out! Steve and his team did several projects for our beach house- flooring throughout, stair treads, barn wood on the fireplace, and open shelves for the kitchen. We got a change to visit the shop and see the flooring and finishing options first hand, which was a great experience. Steve listened carefully to what we wanted and included video updates as each project was in process. Basically, everything turned out perfectly! The finish and distressing on the floor was exactly what we were looking for and should prove to be a durable and beautiful element in our home for years to come.

Many Interior Designers have new and unusual product, on our radar. When I needed an extremely custom door, I was thrilled that Steve at Historic Flooring was able to provide it 100% completed to us. I am talking, with custom glass insert, with upgraded barn door hardware, with the correct finish, and shipped safely to Florida. No matter that they are in another state.... Steve was on the phone and photographing wood species and finishes whenever I had a request. He also shipped the most gorgeous finish selections on large pieces of the actual wood which I have used over and over again, they are so impressive. We have also used their flooring which is absolutely authentic reclaimed wood from all kinds of interesting locations and species. A very excellent resource for all of us who love designing homes!

We loved working with Steve and his team. We were able to get custom pieces that gave our new home historical context. We were in awe of Steve's energy and creativity. We would definitly use again.

I asked Historic Flooring to make a custom "ship's ladder" for accessing a loft. The loft was only 4.8 feet above floor level in a small office, but I needed it to be sturdy, easy to climb and dismount even for an older person, and beautiful. They were very patient in working with me to map out the small floor space and determine the angle and required number of steps. The delivered ladder is better than I could have hoped. It is ROCK SOLID, the most beautiful old wood, and perfectly sized.

Steve is the most wonderful person to work with! We added a sunroom to our home a few years back. At first I just wanted to purchase some reclaimed barn wood. After realizing he had so much to offer we not only purchased barn wood but also some beautiful white pine flooring, treads for my steps and he helped me design a fireplace surround. Note that Steve AND his products are unique! Everything has so much character. The barn wood is amazing. It added texture and detail to the room. The variation in each piece is amazing. And, it's shiplap so easily installed. The fireplace surround has a massive mantel defined with knots and a bit carved out in spots. It's measurements were spot on and fit into the corner perfectly. The white oak flooring is gorgeous. So many pieces sent have beautiful grain and knots. Some pieces he's added a bit of dovetail to add to its beauty. But, my most favorite part is the steps. Each step has a perfect mitered corner...again beautiful grain and dovetail inset. The best part are the kickbacks, his idea! They look like dark bark from a tree. They appear to be a bit fragile but aren't! Two years after installation they are perfect. I should add that both the barn wood and kickbacks came with a piece of copper metal in the open knots! A perfect complement to the design. To add to all this beautiful product you also get Steve! I never met him in person but he gave me his full attention to the design of each piece. We spent hours on the phone discussing every detail. As a result it's all just perfect! It's the most beautiful room in my home. Everyone who visits just loves it! Thanks Steve!

My job was a small one but they treated me like it was a million dollar project. Kept me informed along the way with photos and updates on progress. Love my wood beams! Favorite room in my home.

Working with Steve was a refreshing, interactive process. He is very personable and pays very close attention to detail. We were very pleased with our antique heart pine loft ladder and would highly recommend this company.
