Threefold Architects

Threefold Architects was established in 2004 to make innovative and exciting, contemporary architecture that delights visually and experientially; an architecture that enhances its environment and benefits the lives of the people who experience it. Founding partners Matthew Driscoll and Jack Hosea have combined a wide range of experience in residential, arts and cultural projects through their work at a number of award winning practices. Renée Searle joined as a partner at the beginning of 2009 bringing with her both an expert knowledge of sustainable construction technologies and experience of running large-scale housing and education projects. As a senior team we have a comprehensive knowledge of a diverse range of areas including planning negotiation, project management, working with listed buildings, sustainable materials and technologies. Central to our approach is a genuine enjoyment in developing clear strategic concepts, an enthusiasm for yielding a unique architectural response to each site and context and commitment to delivering quality regardless of project size. This bespoke service results in a distinctive solution for each project, which is specific in how spaces are organised, shaped and occupied, inventive in the materials chosen and meticulously detailed in how they go together. Coupled with our innovative design process, is an ongoing discourse with those who will be touched by each scheme whether they are the client, user groups or community. We believe that effective communication is key to both the successful design and delivery of any project. Our work has won awards and competitions, created successful places and spaces, and surprised, delighted and satisfied our clients. We are proud of what we have created so far but we continually strive to exceed expectations and better our achievements in the future.
