I have worked with Neil, Troy and the team at Turrell twice for renovations. The quality of their work and their overall professionalism has been excellent. I highly recommend Turrell.

We enlisted the help of Turrell Building to help us update our alfresco area with the addition of a pool. The initial stages of planning and and quoting were very professional. They went through every detail thoroughly with a set cost which I loved and were accommodating when we wanted to make a few changes along the way. I really loved that we had access to an amazing Interior Designer who helped with colour and design co-ordination and it was included in the service. It was unfortunate that COVID struck 2wks after we started and there were prolonged delays due to rain but the job did finally get completed. One of the reasons I chose Turrell Building had to do with the quality and workmanship they provided. They knew what they're talking about, they didn't cut any corners and the standard of work was exceptional. Thank you to Neil and his team for providing us with a gorgeous new home.

It has been an absolute privilege to work with the Turrell Building team. Our experience, from planning to build has been easy and enjoyable. We both work full time and have small children. We certainly didn’t need another full-time job micro-managing a new build. Fortunately, we have always felt supported by Turrell; nothing has been too difficult for the team, no decisions are ever rushed, and the interior designer helped a lot with the selections. The immediate Turrell team and the extended team (sub-contractors) are simply amazing at what they do. Everyone from Neil, Troy, Damien and Laeton and each trade has offered suggestions / advice / improvements along the way and they are all spot on. The old Time / Cost / Quality pyramid and adage that something must give to get the other two, simply never applied on our project. Quality is non-negotiable with the Turrell team. This you can expect without question. Time, we were given a completion time when the job started. I automatically added a few months in my head, but we finished exactly when they said we would. Cost, apart from the complete unknowns e.g. rock excavation etc. we are 100% on budget. This allowed us to use some of our contingency to improve on a few selections, which just make the place even more special. To say we are thrilled with the house is an understatement. On reflection we feel lucky the Turrell team wanted to work with us. It has just been a fantastic journey. I couldn’t recommend the team at Turrell enough, thanks again.

My fifth renovation by Turrell Building has just been completed. I was so delighted with the first four- kitchen, bathroom, laundry and outdoor area- that I did not hesitate and chose Turrell for this most recent renovation. The aim was to renovate some areas and repurpose others to give me an updated home suitable for a comfortable retirement. The result far surpassed my expectations. The attention to detail and the craftsmanship have resulted in not only a very safe a convenient home but also a very beautiful one with a seamless transition from the existing to the renovated. During the entire process I found the team very easy to work with and I appreciated the excellent advice regarding the selection of the finishing touches.

Neil and his team were really great helping out with finalising the design for our house renovation including kitchen, living room ,bathroom and bedroom areas and outside bbq area about 10 years ago and again this year assisting with advice regarding roof design and structural changes. Communication was excellent, and quality of build was great.

Neil with his team did a great job integrating an Alfresco area to our house with quality inclusions and the finer details were looked after. Inclusions like quality Cedar sliding doors, recycled telegraph poles for support posts and rangehoods for BBQ vented outside with Velux sky lights. Their work has added value to our overall house whilst making it a great place to hang out with family and friends. Any issues post the build they were quick to follow up and ensure everything was all ok.

I had Turrell Building undertake some external and internal works to our home. They ran over some of my trees, they broke a window with the long timbers when moving them, they installed the floorboards upside down, they kicked my dog and left coffee cups all over the place. Not really...........The guys were extremely professional and took my job seriously. The depth of knowledge of the site team plus the support from behind the scenes was genuinely well run. Internally, we now have 250sqm of French pattern travertine with freshly rendered walls and a very solidly built 70sqm of spotted gum decking outdoors. The workmanship is impressive as are the little things. Daily clean up of site is something i think not all builders do. Communication to me is important, the Turrell team were always touching base but not in a pushy way. I've got to say we are 100% satisfied with the work and the way it was executed. We have 2 bathrooms coming up, I know who i will be using already. Give yourselves a pat on the back guys, well done.

We found Turrell Building Services to be an extremely reliable and efficient group. All the trades involved were very responsible with Neil Turrell providing close supervision. We were absent for some weeks and the building proceeded rapidly, during which time the builder was in constant contact. We were and still are very happy with the result.

Neil Turrell and his team rebuilt/redesigned our 6 bed acreage property. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship was outstanding. With the designer we were able to make best use of our site in a seamless design process. Both employees and contractors were highly professional and communication was perfect. The initial quote and final costs were very close. The detailed upfront work meant there were no major surprises. The end result was a transformed property with character and longevity.

I can't recommend Turrell Building enough. They were amazing. They were in communication every step of the way throughout our major home renovation. The foreman was amazing and they provided an initial stylist to help with colours, choice of tiles etc. Any problems were always followed up promptly and Neil was always over every aspect of the job.

We’ve just completed a major renovation of our 40 year old house, replacing around 90% of the house and doing a few structural changes to improve the house layout. From very early on it became obvious to us that the Turrell team were very experienced builders and excellent to work with, and we’re extremely happy with the results. I’d been putting off doing our renovation for over a decade due to my apprehension about the whole process, but as it turned out I shouldn’t have worried, all I had to do was find the right builder! What first attracted us to Neil was his complete openness and honesty (this was true for all the Turrell team) which gave us confidence that nothing was being glossed over or hidden. Their business and build processes were also excellent, ensuring everything was captured and executed correctly. At an early stage of the process during the indicative pricing phase, I was impressed that all the trades turned up at our house at least 5 mins early to their respective meeting with Turrell staff, this told me they held Neil and the team in high regard. In fact, all the trades that Neil and the team used for our renovation were intelligent & highly skilled, often thinking of things we hadn’t considered. They were very nice people and great to deal with. They took pride in their work with excellent attention to detail, producing quality workmanship that is obvious to see. This was our first major renovation so it was reassuring to have the Turrell team guide us through the whole process, often making extremely helpful suggestions. Our house is wonderful to live in and looks amazing! Wow, what a journey it's been! After almost 11 months we're done! Our home looks amazing & we'd like to thank Turrell for the awesome job they've done. We couldn't have asked for any more considering the circumstances & importantly, we were still bang on budget! Right throughout there have been external challenges thrown Turrell's way, but each time they found a way to deal with the matter. From Covid, to material shortages, rising prices; it's been relentless. The outcome however is nothing short of remarkable. The quality of the materials, workmanship & attention to detail is second to none. Neil often went over & beyond for us, for which I'm very grateful. They were always happy to answer our calls and deal with each question, concern with professionalism and respect. If you're after a good, honest builder with a dedicated team behind him, you can't go past Turrell! We highly recommend them.

Could not speak more highly of Neil and the team at Turrell Building. Right from our early interactions we knew we had our fit - not only for the expertise but the genuine passion they had for building our dream home. We never felt like a ‘project’ but instead felt like partners to bring our dream to reality. Love that he embraces natural materials like timber, sandstone and travertine, unlike others who use composite materials. I am taking the time to provide a well deserved positive referral for Turrell Building. Our Build was a little different as the site is a working Cattle Farm 3 hours north of Sydney. Construction commenced in Feb 2020 and was completed in April 2021 on time and within the proposed budget. The building process worked well. Troy was the project Manager for our job and I would rate his knowledge & ability very highly. Damien drove the day to day construction with an excellent eye for detail. I would highly recommend Turrell Building as Quality Home Builder. We are absolutely delighted with our new home.

Resort Living, what a beautiful result. We could not be happier. Our old, tired, dated home of 20 years in Galston underwent major renovations and additions with Turrell Building and Fyffe Design. You would swear it is a completely new building, the quality of workmanship and finishing touches are exceptional. The original house was 50 years old and parts were falling apart, literally. Neil Turrell came and met us in our home, listened to what we wanted to achieve, he explained to us different building and design options and provided amazing solutions to issues we thought would have to compromise on and do without. The house had good bones and to save demolition and reconstruction costs, not to mention unwarranted waste to landfill, Neil suggested keeping the foundation structure, most of the external brickwork and strip the inside of the house leaving the wall timber frames rather than knocking down the entire house. We had thought that anything less than a total knockdown and rebuild would mean compromise, such as not raising the ceiling heights or having automatic opening garage doors due to the existing floor level restrictions above the garage. We now have our raised ceilings and the amazing solution of electric swing opening garage doors. We love them. The final design Neil & his team presented was just what we were after for our new home. The ideas and detailed touches, such as feature niches, mood lighting, beautiful timbers all combined to really make the home stand out from a standard build. Everyone in the office were of great assistance in helping make the many decisions along the way from final touches, selection and sourcing of materials and finishes, to changes to our design along the way. To Leisa, Troy, Mason and Sharon you made the process of selecting everything so much easier for us. Throughout the build, Laeton, our site manager and his team were fantastic to deal with being available to discuss anything during the build or to make those important decisions that arise during construction. We always came away from a meeting knowing the right outcome was being provided in the end. The team on site were mindful of how the construction can impact our neighbours, they were always courteous and helpful to them. A big thankyou to all the guys on site and especially Laeton, Stevie and Ayden who were there from beginning to end, we knew we were in great hands. We love our new contemporary home with all the the beautiful finishes and details of reclaimed timbers, hand laid stonework, colourbond roofing, bespoke garage doors, we constantly have people stopping to look and admire at our house! It is a dream to now be living in our amazing home and the beautiful results are beyond what we had envisaged and hoped it would be. Neil and the team at Turrell Building recently completed a major internal renovation and external addition to our home just over twelve months ago. From the initial design stages right through to handover the team were professional, prompt and understanding- they turned out a finished product that met our design expectations and fell within our budget. We engaged the services of Turrell Building Services Pty Ltd to undertake the building of our dream retirement home. This was the first time we had built and were swamped with warnings by friends of how fraught the project would be and dire warnings of all the problems we would encounter. We can honestly say that from the moment we met Neil Turrell we were impressed by his honesty and professionalism. He was always helpful and no problem was too small to discuss or sort out. He was always available when we needed to discuss anything with him and he made us feel that we were in the right hands. Neil put together a highly professional team to work their magic. From their designer, who put up cheerfully with my design changes and suggestion, to his Construction Manager, Troy, who oversaw the whole project, to our Site Foreman, Damian, who was in charge of everything that was going on on site, we were in the most capable of hands. All their trades people were highly professional and knew exactly what their job was. Any problems or changes that came up were dealt with swiftly and professionally. The project was held up soon after start through a problem that was not evident at the time of signing of Contract, which delayed building progress. The team worked tirelessly to make up the lost time and delivered the completed project well within Contract. Any teething problems have been dealt with swiftly and to our satisfaction. We feel we belong to the Turrell Family as they continue to take an interest in how we are doing with the new house. We would not hesitate to recommend Turrell Building Services for any project. We were so glad that we chose them and are now living in our beautiful new dream home with everything just how we imagined.

We heard about Turrell Building via word of mouth as they came highly recommended. After our building work was completed, we can confirm that this is a fantastic company. We had a difficult site with limited access which would have made the job physically so much harder for the builders on site. Not once did anyone complain or make us feel bad for the difficult conditions. Everyone was always positive and friendly; nothing was too much trouble. From our very first meeting with Neil, we were given the impression that we were important to them. Every staff member that we have had any contact with was very friendly and it was clear in all dealing with this company that their customers/clients are important to them. We recently used Turrell Building Services for a complete renovation and extension to our outdoor entertaining area. Neil's vision from the start of what could be achieved and his advice on creating a beautiful outdoor space/room, with a fabulous kitchen for our house was fantastic. Well what can you say about Neil and the Turrell Building Team? Exceptional is the the word as there are very few people that have Neil's ability. Neil's vison in design enables him to take in all your Design idea's and questions, toss them around and present it back in both a Visually pleasing and practical way. This backed by a very good Admin, design office and construction team, it is no wonder the company is kicking so many goals.

Building from scratch and choosing a builder we felt we could trust was a daunting experience for my husband and I. We wanted to renovate our house and build a separate studio to resemble an old French barn. For the past 5 years I had been collecting old French shutters and antique doors to help create the ambience of an old barn and I needed a builder who knew where to find the tradesmen to replicate the missing hardware and to build other bespoke elements. I also required a builder who had high standards of workmanship. Having lived in The Hills for over 30 years, I had heard Turrell Building Services had a good reputation so we took the chance and hired them. Neil has a knack of employing the right people in every aspect of running his business from the office staff to the tradesmen who are turning my dream into a reality. Whatever I design, they can build it. Troy, the Project Manager, is across a range of jobs yet he makes me feel as if my job is the only one that’s important. I don’t know how he does it but he makes it look so easy. He’s incredibly competent and someone you would want overseeing your build. Budget wise, he’s totally on top of it and will save money where he can without compromising on quality. Ritchie is my Site Foreman and again I feel so lucky to have him running the build. Nothing is too much trouble. He’s a very skilled carpenter amongst other things and he has kept the build on schedule. His knowledge, especially with timber, has been invaluable. From start to almost finish, the 13 month build has been a positive and happy experience. We will start phase 2 of the house renovations in a couple of years and we will be employing Turrell’s again.

In my initial meeting with Neil I was impressed by not only his honesty, professionalism and industry experience but how he knew how important it was for me to build my dream home within budget! We have had a wonderful experience building with Turrell. At every step of the way we have felt so comfortable that we made the right choice. Neil and his team persevered with Council when we had been told by others there was no hope. They listened to our ideas in the design phase and we are just thrilled with the quality of the build and the end result. All renovations come with some bumps in the road and ours was no exception but Turrell communicated well, addressed the issues and did their best to keep it all on track. We couldn't be happier with the way our house has come from 1979 vintage white bricks, lots of mission brown, archways and cedar panelling, and transformed into a house worthy of the 21st century. We now have a very unique one-off house...there will be no other house just like it....anywhere. And that makes us very happy. Thank you Neil, and your team! We utilised the services of Neil and his team for an extensive renovation of our Castle Hill home in 2009 to bring it up to current day specs. Neil and his team worked with us to create the design of an outdoor pool , paved area and cabana on what was an existing paddock ,; and then built what was a relatively complex project. We were very pleased with the result .Neil and his site supervisor discussed things openly with us as they progressed , and their after completion service was also good . Our project was a one off rebuild, refurb, extend whilst we were still living on-site. The staging of the build was excellent and communication flawless. A fixed price contract with PC components allowed precise cost prediction and control.

We have now used TBS 3 times for the gradual renovation of our home. The work they have performed has not only been in budget and on time but also to a very high standard. My wife and I first met Neil around 2013 when we were looking at renovating an outside entertaining area for our home we moved into 12 months prior. Turrells was the third (and final) company we consulted for this project. The reasons we choose Turrells were as follows: Instead of quoting for a standard "bolt on" addition that the previous companies suggested, 1. Neil was able to provide concepts and ideas which actually went beyond what we had initially conceived, and was able to suggest ways to seamlessly integrate the renovation into the existing home structure. The final result was such spectacular, and felt like a true part of the overall home. 2. The quality and detail of the initial plans that Neil had drawn up showed that they had not only listened to our wishes, but had also made suggestions which we would not have considered ourselves, but which made the project that much better. 3. Our assigned project manager Josh Brown was a pleasure to work with. Totally professional in all aspects, as well as being friendly and a great listener. One thing that stands out was his suggestion to make an alteration to some of the materials in the original plan as he felt it would improve the project. This suggestion was not only spot on in hindsight, but actually REDUCED the cost of the renovation! Since that first project we have used Turrells twice more (complete downstairs reno, and front yard landscaping project), and have been extremely happy with both. We have recommended Turrells to several people who have been considering renovations, and would have no hesitation in continuing to do so in future.

A friend suggested we obtain a quote from Neil Turrell after we had plans approved by council for an extensive renovation which included putting a master bedroom upstairs. We had already narrowed our choice of builders down to two, but my husband and I thought that it wouldn’t hurt to get one more quote from Turrell’s especially because our friend who we trusted was so insistent that we speak to Neil. From our first interaction with Leisa Turrell we were provided with exceptional service. Neil was responsive and attended our place within a week. He took away the plans we already had drawn up and promised to provide a quote as soon as possible. A few days later he called, explained that he was discussing our plans with his in-house designer Alec and confessed that they didn’t believe our existing plan was ‘good bang for our buck’. He asked us to consider a different option and suggested that Alec come and visit our property so he could get a first hand feel for the block. When Alec visited I walked him through the very original house and explained all the things that were frustrating us and that we hoped to rectify in the renovation. I was still a little unsure what Turrell’s was proposing but trusted Neil when he suggested we explore all options before committing to such an extensive project. Within a few weeks Alec had drawn up the most fantastic plan, which we instantly loved. What’s more, he had listened to what I’d asked for and addressed everything in my rather extensive list. We were kicking ourselves that we hadn’t heard about Turrell's earlier and wasted time and money with other designers (one of which never even attended our house to speak to us!). We are so grateful that Neil had the courage to give us his honest opinion. The plans that Turrell's designed are far superior in terms of functionality, street appeal and overall layout. From that point we knew we were in the right hands and had made the right decision to proceed with Turrell’s. We were assigned an absolutely A-grade team of builders - Stevie and Mason capably and cheerily led by Laeton - who set about miraculously turning Alec’s awesome drawings into reality. Our renovation was extensive: replacing every window and door in the house; a new roof; an extension including a master suite; new garage; laundry; three bathrooms, a deck and a magnificent kitchen. Furthermore Turrell's accommodated us living through the reno which was not easy for the team at times. Laeton completely understood me and my style and worked compatibly with us to achieve our end result suggesting little things here and there that put the icing on the cake. We trusted him implicitly - which cannot be overstated when you are working in such close proximity. Whenever we struck a stumbling block (and let’s be real there are always stumbling blocks in reno’s) the team were quick to troubleshoot or come up with a workable solution. Neil was very attentive and available and kept a watchful eye over our project right through to completion and followed through on a number of minor things. We honestly could not be happier with the home Turrell’s have created for us. We pinch ourselves everyday that we have such a lovely home now. We miss the buzz of the team on site - they felt like family after our seven month intense relationship! I think even the neighbours miss them! We have people stopping on a regular basis to tell us how great our place looks which is a great compliment to Turrell’s. My wife and I decided to split our major renovation project into two phases. Having learned of Turrell through local advertising after the 1st phase had been done, we included them in our short list for the 2nd phase (alongside the first phase builder and one other). The quality of the initial consultation and subsequent discussions leading to receipt of the quote were top notch and we were very surprised to find the detailed quote very competitive so we went with them. That set the scene for an exceptionally good experience with the team. Work was done quickly and to an excellent standard. We elected to stay in the house while the work was done and the team managed the logistics of that very well, maintaining a spotless site. We tend to regard cost overruns as a 'given' with building projects - which seemed to cause some amusement to Josh and the team who assured us that the detailed consultation is meant to minimise that risk. While we were initially dubious, the regular interim reports kept showing that we were +/- bang on price, including PCs and sure enough, when the final invoice arrived, the work had come in marginally under budget. We are delighted with the end product and had an excellent experience throughout our dealings with Neil and all of his team. Totally recommend them for renovation work.

I hired Neil Turrell and the fabulous Brad Trethowan for a significant personal renovation project that I needed done in an eye-wateringly tight timeframe. Not only did they do it on time, they were unfailingly professional and careful, and cheerful. We all know how important it is to be cheerful when the pressure's on during a reno!
