Urban Homecraft

I cannot express just how happy I am with the custom cabinets Urban Homecraft built for my small galley kitchen in New York. They are gorgeous! Working with the designer (Kayla), the owner (George), the installers (Duran and his assistant) was wonderful. All were very responsive from the minute I contacted them to the day they finished. Kayla is so so good. She listens, looks, and comes up with suggestions you haven't thought of, that maximize the space, all while keeping it looking fantastic. She thinks through every, single detail; nothing escapes her. She also works quickly and efficiently. An incredible talent and so easy to work with. George is great. He was proactive with ideas and completely transparent about pricing and timing. Duran is a gentleman and an artist. His installation is perfect. The people who work for this company are outstanding. They know what they are doing, do it so well, take pride in their work and treat the customer with respect. Communication is excellent. The cabinets came in on time (actually, two weeks early), on budget, and more beautiful and more functional than I could possibly have imagined. I am so lucky to have found Urban Homecraft and am recommending them to everyone.

I strongly recommend this highly competent, qualified team of professionals. Each step in the process was executed perfectly, from the initial consultation (with great ideas from George who helped me design perfect storage and drawer spaces where ho-hum closets used to be), to drawings by Kayla with great attention to detail and my specific needs, through execution by their professional installation team of real perfectionists who saw to every detail in the drawings and made sure that they delivered exactly what they promised. They were courteous to my building staff and very clean. They run a tight ship but were also understanding and accommodating when we hit a roadblock with my building (through no fault of theirs). They were an absolute pleasure to work with!

We have hundreds of books, and needed someone to make us a very large built-in to store them. George and his team were lovely to work with from the very start of the project until the very end. They were responsive and communicative, listening very carefully to our needs, and checked with us at every step to make sure that the project would look the way we had envisioned. They also were very good about scheduling around an unexpected delay (which, to be clear, was completely our fault, not theirs), and not only stuck to the schedule but were finished a bit earlier than expected. The built-in turned out beautifully, totally transforming the look of our apartment, and we're thrilled with it. George and his team even built my husband a little wooden stand for his computer to replace the ugly laptop stand he had been using. I'm actually slightly disappointed that we don't need the kitchen redone yet so I can't hire Urban Homecraft again, but when we do, you can be sure I'll be calling them. Highly recommend!

The team at Urban Homecraft was extremely professional. They provided excellent options and collaborated on developing the ideal solutions for my space. At every stage of the project their team was informative and inclusive. Overall they did a fantastic job.

We hired Urban Homecraft to build us a custom kitchen island, and are SUPER happy with how everything turned out. I was personally concerned with the scope of the project, but George and his team were extremely professional from start to finish. Excellent communication from the beginning when we had our phone and in-house consultation, and throughout the process of discussing the design options, the type of material and finishings, and the installation process. Initial measurements were taken, but our project manager, Eric, made another trip to make sure all the measurements were spot on. Everyone answered all our questions in a thorough manner during phone calls and in person meetings, and were upfront with what was possible and what was trickier to accomplish, thus allowing us to design an island that fit our needs best. Our concerns were taken seriously and solutions were provided. Speaking of installation, I was impressed by the speed and efficiency at which the island was installed. There was some cutting needed, but the team made sure that our kitchen and living room was left dust-free and clean. Basically the whole process was a breeze. George even did a post-project debriefing with us to make sure that we were satisfied with our island. Highly recommend!

Our Urban Homecraft custom cabinets are absolutely gorgeous. They look amazing, the design is well thought out for practical use, they are extremely well built, and the finishes are smooth and even. We are delighted. Urban Homecraft is a professional group of cabinetry artisans. Their communication is excellent, design work is inspired and detailed, and they do what they say they will do. From the start, they considered every option and detail, and the design was better than we could have imagined. Our project manager answered our questions quickly and if she said we'd have something by a certain day, it was there. Communication through the design process was clear and detailed. They built the cabinets in their workshop, so the installation in our apartment was less than a week, with three short follow-up visits. The cabinets are beautifully built and rock solid. Every person we worked with was conscientious and easy to work with.

It took me too long to post this review, but better late than never. I was sitting in my transformed living room thinking about how much I love and appreciate the new bookshelves, cabinets and radiator covers we had fabricated and installed by Urban Homecraft last year and how they have improved the look and feel of our home and I had to take the time to write a review, which I should have done long ago but life got in the way. Our experience with Urban Homecraft was a 10 out of 10. From the initial email to the office to discuss our needs to the finished results, everything was done with the utmost professionalism, amazing attention to detail, honestly and integrity. Our project was big, built-in bookcases, cabinets and radiator covers with storage and integrated lighting in our living room and dining room, cabinets in our office and radiator covers in two bedrooms. The team truly transformed our prewar apartment to a modern lifestyle and created the most beautiful and usable storage we could have ever hoped for. George and team were precise but also easy to work with when unexpected changes arose, and didn't blink eye about problem solving and coming up with perfect solutions for us. Importantly, pricing was transparent, timing was accurate to the point that they finished installation a few days early and they delivered everything we asked for with top notch quality. The finished product is honestly better than we imagined even though they provided incredible 3d design drawings. I would not hesitate to recommend Urban Homecraft to anyone and, though our storage needs have been more than taken care of with our project, I would use them again in a heartbeat if we found ourselves in need of even more beautiful, useful built-ins.

Recently had Urban Homecraft install three custom built-ins, two of which were significant in size. The experience was superb. George and the crew showed up to meetings on time, had prompt communications with us about design and construction, measured the space multiple times for precision, and installed high-quality cabinetry and shelving that surpassed our expectations. George and Eric had ready suggestions for ways to maximize our space and we are quite happy with the results. Project management was top notch, and the installation crew was professional and tidied up the workspace every evening before leaving. They instilled a high level of trust. I would gladly work with UH again in the future and recommend to friends.

Urban Homecraft is a pleasure to work with! They designed and built custom office cabinets and a two-person desk for us. Their overall process, communication throughout each phase, and the build-out all went great! They even squeezed in a small side project nobody else wanted to take on prior, and they also finished earlier than planned. I recommend working with them!

Urban homecraft did a great job converting our second bedroom into an office and guest room. They installed on one wall, a desk with bookcases and cabinets and on the other wall, a Murphy bed and more storage. We were extremely impressed with the whole process. George and his team made the process so smooth. The attention to detail was impressive. They listened to what we needed and were able to make it happen beyond our expectations. George had some really good ideas and clever tips to maximize our space. Kayla was so helpful and communicative. Konstantine and team did an tremendous job on the install, we couldn’t be happier. We would definitely work with Urban Homecraft again for future projects and highly recommend them.

Urban Homecraft did an amazing job building two closet units for our 1800s brownstone in Brooklyn! They were meticulous in all phases of the project - from the design to the build. They even finished earlier than anticipated, which was a nice surprise. They were incredibly communicative throughout the entire process. I would hire them again and would recommend to anyone.

Urban Homecraft completed two projects in our new apartment for us - a double height armoire in the bedroom and under-bar-counter cabinets and bookshelves. Their workmanship was beyond superb - absolutely gorgeous. We have had several experiences with custom work in our various homes over the years, and all of these projects have been executed at the highest standard - but Urban Homecraft really blew away the others on their level of quality of workmanship. This would be reason enough to recommend the team, but just as impressive was the entire process from start to finish - from a tour of their facilities, to site visits to gather data and ideas for detailed designs, to excellently detailed drafts and specs of the units, with computer generated pictures of how they would look in place. And thorough timely follow-up and communications all along the process. We could not possibly be happier with Urban Homecraft and the entire team and how they enhanced our apartment.
