Several years ago, we bought our dream lot in the Manors of Waterford subdivision with the intent on building a custom one story home. As we began the laborious task of plan design, we stumbled onto a one story spec home that Veranda Designer Homes was building down the street from our dream lot in a cul-de-sac. We walked through the house several times, being drawn into the unique and beautiful architecture and design elements. There was so much to love about this house. Beautiful custom beams running through the house. Huge picture windows that brought the outside indoors, highlighting two courtyards with exquisite water fountains with peaceful retreats, and views of the beautiful lot from the large covered patio. After praying about it, we felt led to sell our dream lot and buy this gorgeous home! This elegant home was almost complete, but we wanted to make a few changes to truly make it our own. Betty’s eye for design is inspiring! She spent time researching and dreaming up unique elements and additions. She listened to our ideas and then came back with plans that far exceeded our expectations. Her incredible team jumped in and graciously provided all the resources needed to create some unique spaces by moving walls, adding custom cabinets, custom tile, changing paint colors, and even designing and building a custom game booth in the game room. Mark was a genius! After living in our home for 2 years, we decided to add a pool, outdoor gazebo and cooking center. Betty and her team engaged once again and helped us create a truly spectacular backyard living environment. We’ve owned several homes during our 25 years in Texas but this home is by far our favorite! The entire Veranda team are not only talented, but kind, loving people that are a delight to work with and we consider them our friends. Having lived in many areas of the country, and moving relatively frequently due to work, we always knew that one day we would build a home that embodied everything we had experienced, and everything we knew we wanted. But knowing what you want, and achieving it exactly, are sometimes two different things. After landing in Texas and realizing we were here to stay, we toured dozens of homes by dozens of builders, and what continued to catch our eye was the attention to detail in the Veranda Designer Homes we visited. We met with several builders to discuss our general ideas, but we knew when we met Betty that we'd found our partner! From the architectural planning and design, to the sequences of construction, Betty and her team were intimately involved and engaged, and kept us informed of every timeline and activity during the build. Our home is of a more contemporary design, and Betty's ideas and excitement truly inspired us as we went. Needless to say, we knew what we wanted, and we certainly achieved it! We've had many friends over the years say they would never put themselves through a "ground up" build again, but we can honestly say with Veranda, we'd do it again in a heartbeat! I contacted Veranda Designer Homes to remodel my kitchen and butler's pantry. From the start, Betty and Mark listened closely to my concerns and desires. Betty drew up blue prints and guided me through the design process, keeping my budget and ideas in mind. She never pushed me, just offered her expertise. We shopped for everything from countertops, lighting and appliances down to drawer pulls. When the demolition began, Betty and Mark's team were here to oversee everything. The work area was left in great shape every day. The entire project took less time than estimated and came in right on budget. I was extremely happy with the outcome of our project. Betty and Mark have also followed up with me and have been here to address any concerns I have had. After shopping for over 2 years to find our "Empty Nester" house that we could still entertain our family we came to the conclusion that to get what we wanted to fit our lifestyle we would have to build. Never building a home before we didn't know where to start. We were most fortunate to find the Cielo Addition with beautiful tree lots and a custom builder who we instantly had a rapport with. Betty Baker and her team listen and create as close to perfect as possible. With the ideas in our head we started with the talented Jamie Linn who translated our scratch drawing and numerous visions on to paper plans. Making sure our family members with special needs and accessibility issues were accommodated was a top priority for us and a welcome challenge for Veranda Homes. From there the building process with a steady list of decisions to make, Betty Baker and the Veranda Team guided us through the maze of options and brought it all together to create our beautiful home. We did come to the realization that you can't build your "Dream home" and afford to live in it, but with all the energy efficient features such as geothermal climate control we can live it true luxury affordability. We have been here over a year and the "New home" fine tuning has been wonderful because they never stop wanting to make sure we are completely satisfied. Our family’s experience with Veranda Designer homes was exceptional. Betty and Mark have mastered the people, processes and product aspect of home building. My wife and I began a large addition to our home, in which Betty’s design concepts and ability to visualize the finished product before starting were key in the creation of our dream. She was able to capture our desires and to add so much more to them than we could have ever imagined. She remained in perfect contact with us during the process and kept us informed throughout. Mark was onsite all day, everyday. His sub contractors are exceptional, and his workmanship exquisite. Mark not only cares for his craft, but also for his people. On several occasions I witnessed him cooking a breakfast of sausage, eggs, pancakes, and or bacon in the chilly January mornings on the job site, coffee included. Nowhere have I ever seen such attention to detail or true compassion for ones work. We encountered some special circumstances with health problems in our family during the construction (unrelated to) and they saw to it that the construction did not impact our family in the least, an almost impossible feat, accomplished. The people of Veranda homes truly seem more like family than contractors. If we were ever to build again, we would utilize Betty and Mark without hesitation or reservation.

As a professional wallcoverings installer, I've had the honor of working with Veranda Designer Homes for several years. They are one of the most gracious and professional teams I've ever worked with. As I've worked in the homes, the other contractors as well as the families have nothing but wonderful things to say about Betty and all of her team. The quality and the beauty of their homes are all in the details and they are nothing less than exceptional!

It’s been 12 months since we have moved into our wonderful new home. Yes it feels like we have been here forever. Veranda worked with us to give us the home of our dreams. We have had several new homes and after being here in the 100 degrees of summer and the 10 degrees of winter we have now seen what it is to live in a quality home. No drafts, no whistling doors or clanging water pipes, what a comfortable home! The Veranda team has delivered the best we have seen, thank you. Almost always when discussing building a new home with friends and acquaintances that have done so, 99% of the time the reaction is “I will never do it again”. We can definitely say that is not the case for us. Sure there are problems and unpleasant surprises but those are expected. I guess the secret to getting through the hurdles is how they are handled. Let me say that the Veranda team did a great job taking the unexpected and making it work. The project was truly a team effort and we are very grateful to them for taking on the uncharted territory ideas and delivering some of the unique building requests we were looking for. Thank you Veranda, not only for the great workmanship (workwomanship) of our home but also for the peace of mind you have given us. We know that we have the best built home available for years to come.
