Great product on paper, if you can get it. Their sales team is the rudest, most incompetent group I've tried to purchase things from. We were initially really excited about their U factor and performance as we are going for a passive house rating. Despite the fact that we were looking at purchasing over $100k of windows we got told that our project wasn't "worth their time" by Liza Sanchez-Warner. We ended up purchasing Sierra Pacific windows instead, much less performant, but it was a lot more pleasant sales experience. I feel like we dodged a bullet.

We purchased Zola windows for our new home on the Pacific Ocean at the Washington Coast. I would highly recommend you AVOID this manufacturer. They are a NIGHTMARE to deal with. If I could have given them zero stars I would have. They shipped over 4 months late. Their customer service, when in fact you could find someone to help you, is totally incompetent. They arrived broken and we were told we must take a photo of the broken windows PRIOR to breaking the "seal" on the cargo container! Sorry, I do not have X-ray vision and neither does my camera. Even when they arrived it was a fight to get them delivered at an appropriate time that would allow for adequate resources to offload them (each pallet was loaded with 5,000 pounds of product). The price you pay is astronomical compared to other options and there was no one responsible to whom concerns could be escalated. AVOID ZOLA! Horrible experience!

Zola is really committed to building high quality future thinking windows and it shows. I've had their windows installed now for 5+ years and they remain air tight and as quiet as the day they were installed. I'm really glad I found these guys and made the decision to go with quality.

Great experience with Zola! After lots of research, we opted for Zola windows and doors for our new house. Could not be happier with the entire package- French doors, tilt/turns, lift/slide patio doors- all of them beautiful, well constructed and operate smoothly. Also, great customer service. Endless back and forth calls and emails between myself, builder, architect and Zola to make sure everything was ordered and installed correctly and they were great throughout the entire process.

I would strongly recommend that future customers review the order verbally with Zola and make sure Zola specifically explain their quote and any differences from the request. There were several changes that were made to our order by Zola without them being explained/specifically identified (ie. they changed window dimensions because of their production limitations). I completely understand production limitations but these should have been communicated instead of waiting for me to find them in the detailed review. Further, a couple of the errors were identified in the order review (ie. window size and window color) but 1 significant item was not identified, the door swing of the front door. After reaching out to Zola for potential correction they refused to accept any responsibility even though the front door did not agree with the plans provided. After several emails back and forth begging Zola for a solution an email was received were Zola stated the windows/doors were cheaper than what I originally paid. This was extremely concerning as I was pushed by Zola to finalize my order and provide a deposit to avoid a 5% price increase. So in less than 2 months from receiving the doors/windows they are no longer more expensive but cheaper??? As a result this has me very concerned about Zola's business ethics and as a result I can't recommend working the Zola's Steamboat office.

We have worked with Zola since 2011. Their customer service, quality of work, and dedication are all worthy of 5 Stars. Their amazing energy efficient windows and doors are installed in many of the Passive Houses we have designed and built, including the PHIUS 2015 Best Overall Project and 2017 Best Single-Family Passive House. We continue to work with them on projects being built today, and we look forward to working with them on our projects currently in design.

Zola windows were specified by the architect for a project in NY metro area. The windows and doors look good except for the interior stand out about 3/4" into the house side frame and the weather strip is visible, (looks ugly). The order was for the most part complete, the shipment was only missing some hardware and a connection piece to mull the windows that we had made locally because we couldn't wait for a shipment from Europe. As far as performance, they are good , except for the fact the weatherstripping is a major problem. Our project manager noticed the weatherstripping falling off of all of the door frames and door units. We called for service and were told to send pictures. Luckily it was within the 60 day warranty period specified by Zola's contract, we sent the pictures and never heard anything back. We have delivered the new home to the client, during the final walk through he too noticed the weather strip and requested it be repaired. We e-mailed Zola again and have had a few conversations with them with no relief. They wanted to charge us 2500.00 to have a technician come out and see the problem, we were unwilling to pay to have obvious manufacturers defect fixed. We will not use this product again and will retrofit with new weatherstripping so the new homeowner will have a weather proof house. Best to use a window company who can fix the product when there are problems.

We are sorry that you are not happy with your experience. We have reviewed our records on your project in response to the issues you raised here. We are happy to continue to work with you to resolve the weatherstripping issues, and see that our customer service department and technical support team has been in touch with you about setting up a video call to walk you through this very simple and routine fix. As we are based in Colorado, we do need to charge you for a service visit in case you would like us to fly one of our technicians out to perform this work in New York. Video/telephone support is complimentary and should be sufficient for this pretty straightforward issue.

We are not sure what you are referring to with regards to the 60-day warranty period. There is nothing like that it our contract.

We do not understand what you mean by saying that "you never heard anything back" from us after sending in the pictures of the weatherstripping issue. Our case records for your weatherstripping issue indicate that we reached out to your team (Ralph) on the following dates without response following the initial 7/27/17 email from him that alerted us of the issue: 7/28/17 (phone call from Joshua, secretary declined to accept a message); 8/3/17 (phone call, Joshua left message describing how to remedy the issue and later that day connected with Ralph to discuss the process); 8/21/17 (email from Ellie following up about whether you need further support and if we can set up video conference), 8/28/17 (email from Ellie following up about whether you need more support), 9/7/17 (email from Ellie letting you know we'll be closing your case due to non-response).

I have used Zola Thermal Clad windows on two custom homes. One of these is a pre-certified Passive House. The most striking thing about the windows is the overall quality. They are beautiful and very well built with have such a solid, bombproof feeling that it inspires the crew to install them perfectly. The installation with the supplied clips and screws is straight forward and structurally sound. Executing the air and weather barrier is also easy to understand and ends with a result I am confident will stand the test of time. The hardware allows for complete adjustment so that the operation can be tuned perfectly and the double weather seal guarantees air and water tightness. Everyone who experiences the operation of the doors and windows notices the solid feeling and positive closure and is impressed or even blown away. Thermal performance is excellent as well as their customer service. There is no doubt Zola windows are a valuable investment! They would be first choice in my own house. David Good, CPHC and builder

Zola is a great company. I spent over five years in the research and design of my passive house. During this time period I researched and read multiple reviews of high performance and passive house windows made in the US, Canada and Europe. Of all windows I researched Zola came out on top with the added benefit of having (what I think) is the best value (price/performance). Their web site was very useful in educating my builder about high performance installation, placement and over insulation. I highly recommend Zola and would use them in any home I build.

Zola has brought amazing german windows to our homes. The windows have shown to be of exemplary quality, craftsmanship, and rigor in our high altitude builds in Park City. As an architect, I used them on my own house 3 years ago, and they have stood the test of time, and we have continued our relationship with Zola only to have our expectations marked and exceeded with all their products we have purchased.
