“IT is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single family in possession of a good property must be in want of a house. However little known the feelings or views of said family may be on first entering such an endeavour, this truth is so well-fixed in the minds of the surrounding builders, that the family is considered as the rightful recipient of whatever house such builders might be inclined to provide. After interviewing many such builders, this family happened upon the acquaintance of one Mr. Gary Green of Valparaiso. Where other builders were delighted to construct the house THEY thought we should have, Gary and his associates were committed to building the house that WE thought we should have. Through a very deliberate, detailed, and interactive process, Gary and Barb took us through multiple iterations until we settled on the design that was (and still is) exactly right for our needs. Construction was equally meticulous, with Gary’s mastery of materials, techniques, and subcontractors apparent throughout the process. He was generous with his time and attention, and was flexible, collaborative, and gracious in making adjustments, thereby reflecting his dedication to delivering the best possible result. The post-construction process has been equally impressive, with multiple formal inspections to identify and fix those annoying but inevitable glitches that only reveal themselves weeks or months after occupying new construction. Gary and his associate Leila have been incredibly attentive to our needs, providing assistance at a point when other builders would have long since departed. The house G.L. Green and Associates constructed is now our home, and our attachment toward this home grows with each passing day. We are ever sensible of the warmest gratitude towards Gary and company who, having brought our dream home into existence, have been the purveyor of great pleasure and satisfaction in our lives. “We are in the process of building a new home and ordered 43 interior and exterior mahogany doors along with cedar garage doors. There are a wide variety of doors that range from double front entry to a custom exterior Dutch door to French doors, 8’ panel doors to a fire rated garage entry door, an ornately carved 8’ grape wine cellar door to exterior garage doors. Our doors represent three different mahogany woods and cedar. Matt the finisher is an artist and received an number of phone calls from him making sure that he completely understood what we wanted – outstanding communication with stunning results. Liz, our customer service representative, also had over the top communication skills that translated into a very complicated order with excessive detail being exact. She is knowledgeable, to the point and careful to not overpromise. You can’t beat on time, complete to exact specs, below budget and above quality! Finally, ever door arrive without damage. Their packaging is exceptional and worthy of their doors of art. Our general contractor will only use Nick’s for their high end custom executive homes in the future. Our home in Waterleaf will be highlighted in the Grand Rapids, MI Parade of Homes this Fall and could serve as a showroom for Nick’s – they are the best!”
