“Short version: Peter is incredible, and you should hire him immediately.
Longer version: We met him on a recommendation after another local landscape designer proved himself an utter disappointment. We have a cute little Craftsman cottage in Elmwood Village, and we wanted a native-heavy perennial garden with some entertainment space and a little spot for our puppy.
Peter delivered, and then some! He effortlessly pairs practicality with a wonderful eye for design. The very first question he asked was, "How do you envision using this space?" From there, it was all about color, the level of maintenance we were comfortable with, what plants we loved (and didn't), what sort of hardscape materials we favored, etc. He heard every single thing that was important to us, and his plans reflected our priorities. He found unexpected ways to bring our vision to life and save some money along the way.
But he didn't stop there... when he heard of our plans to install a small mural along our driveway, he found two local artists for us to consult. He gave us his best recommendation for a local contractor to handle the hardscape. And then he gave us names and tips for getting the best prices on plants from local growers.
He was amazing every step of the way and I can't wait to tell everybody who comes to the 2022 Buffalo Garden Walk who helped make my garden gorgeous!”

“We had our entire backyard taken from nothing to a dream oasis. Richard and his positive, respectful crew, worked with us until every detail we envisioned was a reality. They began by setting the grades for the entire project including the work to be done by our pool contractor. After that, they created natural retaining for our very sloped yard, constructed a concrete sports pad, laid flag stone, built a natural stone BBQ, fireplace, water fall, and pool house. Their attention to every detail is exactly what my wife and I were looking for. The crew finished by creating beautiful beds and plantings to suit our vision. Some of the things outside of their landscape skill set that we truly appreciated was their daily clean up, their respectful nature to our children and their constant willingness to listen to our thoughts. We would highly recommend Richard and the LandArt crew.”

“GELDERMAN LANDSCAPE SERVICES: Outstanding Company!
C - CREATION AND CONSULTATION: Throughout this phase of the project, Harry Gelderman visited our home a few times to see and discuss the areas in our front, side and back yards that I was interested in having improved. He was an active listener as I shared my wishes and ideas, and offered good suggestions to be considered. With his team, he was diligent in creating a design that was both plausible as well as aesthetically pleasing. The final design reflected a shared understanding of what I had chosen and desired.
A - ACCOUNTABILITY: Harry was diligent in meeting or exceeding his promised timelines, and was very quick to respond to the many emails I sent throughout the process. Quotes and the “Scope of Work” were promptly provided. Workers certainly arrived early (7:00 AM) and put in full days of hard work. Harry also managed sub-contractors for some portions of the work (eg. paving, stone selection, sod) and all sub-contracted companies also performed at a stellar calibre.
R - RESPECT: All transactions were professional and respectful. A positive sense of humour was evident and their receptiveness to my ongoing commentary, input and praise was always received with the utmost respect. I enjoyed the levity which enhanced the confidence and trust developed between me and all who worked here, especially Jay. Respect for my neighbour’s property was also evident as our massive project unfolded, and clean up each night was well done. This was greatly appreciated.
E- EVIDENCE: The true test of a company’s efficacy is in both the process and the product. The process to achieve the desired goals exemplified their “service-oriented” mindset and delivery. As the project evolved and when I got new ideas or when queries surfaced, all workers were attentive, accommodating, and diligent in ensuring I would be happy with the product. Through the demonstration of their strong knowledge of best practices, refined craftsmanship skills and a positive attitude topped with a great sense of humour, I watched, learned, and admired them for the expertise that they brought to this project. Jay, Darren, Big Jon, Andre and John were absolutely superb! This was a large project and I certainly had many high expectations throughout, however they were patient, wise, informative and humorous. I appreciated them educating me and sharing their honesty of what they thought would look good and what might not, so I could make informed final decisions. They gave me great options to consider and I had no regrets on decisions made. Gelderman landscaping has amazing employees working there! They know their stuff!

“Santino Burgi and his staff are and were fabulous. They relandscaped my front lawn in 2014.... Not an easy task if you could see what they were starting from...They created for me a stunning front landscape. Next year they rescued my very neglected back yard....Santino's eye for detail is outstanding!!! Then they came to my rescue as my sunroom was causing me grief...the sun panels were separated and letting in rain and debris....after numerous phone calls to sun room builders no one would make a house call...except Santino..he and his colleague Mark solved the problem and made sure the room survived the winter... So again in the summer of 2015 he did a fabulous makeover of my daughters back yard....again he worked with her and what she wanted.....and the results were again amazing...she was delighted and everyone is happy...His vision is always great and the results are fabulous!!!
