“I purchased a coffee table (maple) and storage bed (walnut) from Akroyd Furniture who are located in the beautiful Distillery District in Toronto's East end. When I went into their shop to inquire about their products they were very helpful and spent time with me explaining the detail of each piece. Their work is what you'd expect from a master carpenter. As the saying goes you get what you pay for.
I found that many other retail stores in Toronto selling storage beds just didn't have the same quality, attention to detail and love for the product.
Robert, who is the the owner, is a real class act and true professional.
I could tell right away that he loved his job and it shows in his work.
If you chose Akroyd Furniture you will not be disappointed. It's was so refreshing to have dealt with a custom small shop instead of dealing with the large box stores on King Street in Toronto.
I know that I'll have the coffee table and storage bed many years from now because I invested in quality custom made furniture.

“Martin was a real pleasure to work with on our home renovation project. He designed and built a very unique custom bookcase for us. His design, craftsmanship, meticulousness and attention to detail were superlative. Even though our new space has many showstopper elements, Martin's bookcase steals the show. He built it offsite and despite that it was millimeter perfect.
We were so pleased with his work that we have since asked him to design and build a small writing desk and a large dining room table with wood reclaimed from our 162 year old house.
I'm worried that giving him such a glowing review will cause me problems in the future when we want to tackle the renovation for the kitchen!”
