They know more than may be healthy about rugs, not just where they're made, what they're made of, and how they're constructed, but the realities of the industry, the history of the process, the cultural significance of the pattern. It didn't feel like I was buying a rug but more that we were trying to fit the needs of the room. They had an eye for space that made it feel like a space and not just a space with a rug in it. I'm stoked because now we have a baby room rug that the kids can drool on, lego on, have accidents on, play dream phone on (or whatever the modern version is), and will be something that eventually they'll fight over as adults when they're building their own homes, and I may... not give it to them. :-) We'll see...”

“We got a recommendation from a friend about Dena Floors, so we went to their showroom and found some samples we liked. To be truthful, we had been planning to use another company who assured us that they could get the result we sought. Ultimately, however, they couldn't -- they prepared several sample boards and the color was never quite right. Dena Floors made us the best sample boards.
Ultimately we made the best decision by going with Mr. Dena. His pricing was also very fair, but more important even that that was the confidence and precision with which he approached the project. Since there was some uncertainty about the finish work, he graciously arranged to do a "trial" in a small room of the house -- a good move, because some adjustments were needed before we went on to the rest of the house (where the results are perfect).
Besides the finish work, Dena was a great partner in weighing options for the actual installation. Wide plank over radiant is a tricky proposition and even though the wood was warranted for that, there are a lot of variables to consider. Dena was great -- he consulted with us on everything and naturally we followed his advice and I'm glad we did.
The crews did the install in phases so as to coordinate with other work being done in the house. Each of them was led by a foreman who was polite, knowledgeable and committed to getting a great result. In the more public areas of the house, they even allowed me to help select which boards should go where.
It would have saved us a lot of time if we'd gone to Dena Floors in the first place, but I’m glad that we eventually found our way to him and his team. Their work is beautiful and they really know their stuff.”
