@freedomplace1- thank you for your vote of confidence! I like your last pic with the slim antique console and lamp. If I were to re-do the living room by opening it up as others have suggested, that means I would eliminate one side table and one table lamp. So perhaps adding the console with a small lamp on top would not be overdoing it. Functionally, that spot is ideal for setting down keys or a purse since it’s near the coat closet. That’s how we’ve been using the space.

The furniture arrangement looks great. I think the egret painting and table look just right in that wall.
Maybe it’s me, but I would move the chairs in another few inches. It would open up the entryway and look ready for company.
