For those with standard lower cabinetry that have that one adjustable shelf and are tired of bending down to reach something off the back of it, here's a great solution! Take that lower shelf off & use it in the wall cabinet directly above it which most likely is the same width. You can maximize the air space above your dishes in the upper cabinet by having more shelves without stacking multiple dish types but give them their own shelf! In the lower cabinet you can now store big party items like chaffing dishes, appliances, tall items used rarely, install organizer drawers etc. to maximize your space vertically.

Most of these ideas are really good. However two design ideas that have always been an issue with me are the trash drawers and the paper towel drawer. My hands are usually wet, and or dirty when I am reaching for a paper towel, and the same for trash. I can’t stand the idea of touching handles constantly with dirty hands and constantly needing to sanitize. I prefer hands free trash receptacles, and paper towel holders easily accessible.

@Kerry Tracht - I am also surprised more of these designers don’t mention toe-pulls. We put one on our trash drawer and use it constantly!
