fireplace surround-can I put granite over tile - I have a fireplace with ceramic tile surround and want to reface it with black granite. Am I able to apply granite over the tile?

maybe scuff marks on edges of granite sink cutout how to get rid of’em - Hubby thought it was dirt off, it’s marking from the cut out , how do I clean this up? It’s honed granite. Thanks!
