" waiting for medical treatment, like Canadians are waiting now."
Huh. I waited about 3 months for my total knee replacement, while a friend of mine in Maryland waited over 6 months for her gynecological surgery. I'm not denying that Canadians often wait for surgeries (a friend is getting a hip replaced after 10 months), but it's a lie to pretend that Americans also don't also often wait for surgery or specialist medical appointments.
" Think of the money you'll save waiting nearly a year to get a prescription to even buy drugs when treatment does start. "
Why do you think you can't get prescription meds while you wait for a procedure? What bizarro world are you living in?
"I can't believe the number of people on the waiting list for surgery or treatment who died before their number was called, it's big....really really big. "
Please share the details on that - I'd love to know.

" Someone's a bit of a nationalist "
Nope. Maybe you don't know what "nationalist" and "nationalism" mean.
" defending a sucky health care system. "
What makes it so "sucky"? I keep asking, and no one has explained what makes it a 2/10 system (i.e. it sucks). I don't believe it's the best and only way to run a single-payer healthcare system, but it's pretty good at what it does.
" Try and find a specialist who will take cash. Won't happen "
Right. No one is surprised by that, and no one expects them to. That would be like me trying to find a doctor in the US that took my Canadian health insurance. Won't happen, and no one would be surprised by that.
" Most provinces won't even allow health insurance to be sold, it's illegal, "
Excuse me? All provinces allow private health insurance to be sold - to cover the things that are not covered by the public health insurance.
" They won't let people rise to the top but insisting everyone stays at the bottom. "
The bottom of what?
" I pay a bundle for health insurance in retirement and haven't paid a nickel for drugs, no co pays, no deductibles and get the best health care at any provider I want "
That's nice; the vast, vast majority of people in the US do not live in a situation like that. If you're happy living in a country that rations healthcare out to only those that can afford it, that's great. I prefer to live in a country where everyone is guaranteed healthcare that isn't tied to their job or their income. Every jurisdiction rations healthcare - all that differs is what criteria they use to ration it.
