I found a way to get “happy” light into the kitchen/great room throughout this Fall. The little tree is from Amazon ($16) and I found the cookie jar for $15 at HomeGoods. I’ll leave the teddy bear there until we’re closer to Thanksgiving and then I’ll bring out the Indian Lady and Puritan Lady figurines that I love for that holiday season. I like having that little bit of light on the counter throughout the Fall season. I usually have a lit Christmas tree there after Thanksgiving and maybe I’ll have to see if Amazon has a “Springtime” tree. 😊

Well, duh. "a guy who sets things down wherever they are last in his hands..." You know what I meant. He never puts things back where they belong. He just sets things down wherever he happens to... without thinking about keeping track of things.

I cleared up the pantry over the weekend…it still needs “cleaning”, but at least I know what I have now and it is all within “best by” dates! I have also replenished my nice wineglass supply via the e-bay. We are a very breaky family, but it is nice to have nice glasses when one breaks out the “good” stuff. As we did when my cousin and her husband were here…he should not be here, he has a dreadful cancer that does not have a 5 year survival rate, but it is fifteen years on and he is still with us, thanks to science and research! I also needed new dining room chairs, because we bought some really pretty, well priced antique ones ten years ago, and they’ve been exploding ever since! The backs are very brittle, and when sturdy gentlemen lean back, things explode. We’re all getting too old for such a risk! I ended up ordering on chairish the same chairs we have at our place in the mountains of Maine. They are the most comfortable chairs ever, no one wants to ever leave that table, so Beloved was on board. They are just coming back from being reupholstered…so, new host chair, new side chair, my precious pretty chairs, and that’s how the explode.
