I like it, except for a couple of things. The kitchen island isn't deep enough. Assuming the units are 600mm deep and you have a 300mm overhang, a 900mm deep island will still fit. Why the window between kitchen and living room?

the depth of overhang depends on need for knee space for stools..if it were my kitchen i would prefer to sit at the dining table and have drawers for pantry storage on the stove side of the island and consider shallow 150 to 300 deep shelves with or without doors on the other side of the island...without stools needing to be pushed in and out the walkway could be narrower than 1200 and the island could be bigger...imo stools are only useful for very small kids...and you could also have a wall to separate the family and dining room for bedroom privacy (with a solar skylight over the table to avoid making the dining room too dark) but a wall to wall curtain could also be an idea for visual separation without compromising the window

Plenty of good ideas here. I cannot offer anything but to say I understand.. have a 1.7 x 1.7 laundry (small but better than a cupboard), a current kitchen too small for an island but planning a movable trolley island for next home. Have sliding glass rear entry door - looks good but is too heavy. Would replace with a hinged door next time. Child 2 has former dining as bedroom so has to access via lounge - thinks nothing of a towel stride past the tv. Guests have been a little shy of the bathroom window (patterned glass) directly looking into replacement dining area (was a porch 50yrs before) but they adapted. We have come full circle from disliking to liking our old separate lounge & separate kitchen. The cooking noise does not have to compete with the TV 😁

So do what will work for you, even if it is an unusual or unpopular choice for others.

PS Noisy cereal crunches should eat alfresco!

Looks great although I would replace bench seats with storage
