solution for clothes storage/hanging in a spare room without a wardrob

We took out a wardrobe in a newly decorated spare room, wonder about possibilities for dealing with hanging or storage space for clothes.

    I agree with Matthew, having been there and done the thing without wardrobes I don't believe there is any useful alternative way to hang or store clothes.

      I would re fit a new wardrobe bespoke to your requirements internally and externally.

      What didn't you like about the wardrobe you removed?

      Depends if the room has frequent guests or you need the space for your own clothes. If for your own then just have a chest of drawers or blanket box for the overspill from your own wardrobe for folded clothes & then a door hook for guests with some hangers on when needed.

      I think that if you need an overspill for your own clothes then you need a wardrobe or a good clearout.

      if you just want room for overnight guests then a clothes horse or a peg rail for hanging or a hook behind the door should be enough.

      If your guests stay longer consider a compact tallboy wardrobe

      If you are looking for bespoke units then I would recommend Robin Johansen. He fitted wardrobes in our master bedroom, a bathroom cabinet and a floor to ceiling mirror in our hallway. Very tidy, courteous and professional. http://www.robinjohannsen.co.uk/index.php?page_id=6&title=About

      Due to the size / layout of one of our bedrooms we did not want a freestanding wardrobe and improvised very successfully with two of these mounted on the wall side-by-side:

      Dust is the only issue on items that don't get worn. But that's also a good motivation to take stuff down the charity shop.
