We finished our living room a few days ago! We basically gutted the whole thing and remodeled it ourselves. We opened the wall to the stairs and refinished the antique Douglas fir floors as well, which was a hassle. The result is a beautiful modern craftsman with some rustic character. Enjoy!

      That is truly amazing! That must have been SO MUCH WORK but it's really paying off as that living room looks stunning and so cozy. You should really be proud of yourself. I can't believe you did it without hiring anybody!

      Thanks, everyone! The project took about 6 months of structural work, plus another 6 months of finishing and decoration. Since we were also remodeling the rest of our home at the same time, it was a drawn out process to finally get it exactly how we want it.

      Doing the finishing touches on the kitchen now and i'll post those photos soon! :)

      This is really beautiful. It is original, feels cozy, warm and family friendly.
