Have no idea what tile to choose. Help!
A leaky toilet ruined our laminate in this basement powder room. Husband wants to replace with tile but I have no idea what to pick. Attached are pictures. Now before you all comment on this very unusual vanity and sink....we know it’s different and we like it. Not everyone’s taste. It was a table that was my parents and I wanted to repurpose it into a vanity. So it’s staying! I just have no idea what type of tile to go with. TIA!

vor 4 JahrenZuletzt geändert: vor 4 JahrenFirst of all, that vanity is amazing!! Not my style but I can appreciate beautiful design when I see it. For the floor I would do a marble tile, to match the vanity top. Look into a marble hex tile in a medium size (a size up from the mini hex tile).
Maybe even an arabesque pattern to mimic your vanity shape. Then, match the grout to keep the pattern more subdued.

What colour/fabric for soft furnishings
Kommentare (19)Hi Ella, first of all, let me say that you have some really nice vintage pieces in your home! If you are planning to keep the light grey rug I would go with a darker shade of grey for the daybed and a lighter shade or a completely different color for the fabric of the sidechair (e.g. like the dark blue in your third photo) in order to create more contrast and give the room a more dynamic feel. You also mentioned a portrait to be hung above the sideboard - maybe the colors of this picture can aslo inspire the fabrics, it's always nice if the same color pops up in different details of a room. Kommentare (10)Hi Ginger, what a lovely view into your garden! - totally agree with to get those yellow curtains out asap...well when it comes to those good old shutter straps (yeah so German!) and how to make them disappear there are mainly two solutions to go: motorist them or take them off. Hiding them with a moulding might admit another solution - but possibly not the most nice looking result I guess... Kommentare (8)Hallo Yvonne, das Wohnzimmer hat durch die Öffnung zu dem kleinen Raum planoben (ehemals Esszimmer?) leider den Charakter eines Durchgangszimmers. Die Sitzgruppe würde also - egal wie gestellt - immer auf einer „Straße“ stehen. Ich vermute, dass dieses Zimmer eine eher untergeordnete Funktion hat, kann das aber nicht ganz ersehen. Ich kann mir auch nicht vorstellen, dass Sie zu Gästen sagen „Kommt, wir gehen in‘s Wohnzimmer“ und dann mit allen durch den kleinen Raum, am WC vorbei, hineingehen, da der gegenüberliegende Teil mit der Küche viel größer und einladender ist. Aber was ich jetzt anregen möchte, ist ein wenig spekulativ, da ich Ihr Gesamtkonzept nicht kenne und nicht weiß, wie Sie leben. Können Sie den Durchgang zu diesem Zimmer schließen? Dan wäre eine Platzierung der Sofas ganz klassisch über Eck möglich, mit der Blickrichtung Fenster-Küche. So sitzt man gerne: geschützt von hinten durch die Wand und mit dem Blick auf den Bereich, wo jemand hineinkommen kann. Zudem ist es einladend, wenn man einen Wohnraum betritt und in eine Sitzgruppe hineinschaut, statt seitlich auf ein Möbel. Der kleine Raum könnte dann ein großzügiger Garderobenbereich werden (von dort geht auch das Gäste-WC ab) und das Entree hätte keinen Kleiderschrank in Nische, sondern ein dekoratives Sideboard, eine Fläche für Kunst oder eine tolle Wand-Licht-Gestaltung.
