Garden Structures, Merit Award by Spellacy's Turflawn Inc., Galena, OH. The scope of this project involved recreating the backyard entertainment space from a multi-level construction into a single level seating area with a fireplace. The completed area is large, with recessed lighting accenting the seat walls, which were built from 6” mortared lime stone. From the yard’s new pathway, a view of the fireplace is shown, demonstrating the woodland backdrop of the client’s property and the surrounding structures. This right-angle perspective displays the integration of the natural stone into the cultured veneer of the fireplace’s face, with the depth of the interior clearly shown. White scone lighting ties the organic feel of the stone to the contemporary style of the client.
