Sitting high up off the road this front patio features two areas, a covered porch with built in bench seating as well as a more open pergola area with direct access to the kitchen via a dutch door.
The pergola ties in well with the substantial sized exposed rafter tails of the porch and other eave areas. The porch ceiling is 6" tongue and groove pine used for the roof decking. The Jeld-Wen vinyl windows are framed in wood brick moulding which was painted a color match to the vinyl for the appearance of wood windows.
The entire patio/porch area is covered in 7/8" Western Red Cedar stained to appear weathered. The color was achieved by opening the wood grain with water then applying a nearly black stain and quickly wiping off excess.
