San Francisco Victorian Kitchen & Dining Remodel
The original layout of this 100 year-old Victorian reflected economic and lifestyle realities that have long since passed. Designed for an era where servants did the cooking from an enclosed kitchen to service a larger dining and entertainment area, the layout of these classic homes runs counter to our modern sensibilities. The design traded one space for the other and opened up the walls for a more spacious environment with a significant increase in natural light. The expanded new kitchen took a prominent position at the front end of the home, with a large island, as well as a family gathering space including a desk and couch.
