We found Tim through an architect friend in San Jose who knew of his work. From the time we started the estimates (2/2012) to the final walk through of the remodel (6/2012), Tim and his crew were very professional and easy to work with. He returned emails and phone calls promptly. He showed up on time or called if he was delayed. He was knowledgeable in all aspects of the remodel and used subcontractors who were excellent in their craft. Also, he was conscious of our budget and invoiced everything to us so we knew what we were being charged. Our remodel project included the kitchen, fireplace, bathroom and stairs. His office manager/wife Allison was helpful throughout the remodel, offering to look for construction materials like tile and flooring to keep within our budget. We had a great experience with Tim and highly recommend him.

I hired Steinwinder Construction for a couple small projects for my house which he is very willing to do. The first project was to repair my garage door frame damages by ground movement over time. Tim had some great ideas for the repairs and added some extra trim to give it a great look. The other project was part of my kitchen upgrade. After I removed tile countertops and backsplash Tim and his crew came in to patch walls, add wiring and plumbing to prepare for new countertops. Tim and his crew were very professional and completed the work in a timely fashion, his tile installer did an absolutely beautiful job and I was completely satisfied with all the work. I would strongly recommend Steinwinder Construction.

Allison and Tim Steinwinder remodeled my parent's 50 year old kitchen recently. This rental property supports my 82 year old Mom's retirement. They did a highly professional job, and made terrific recommendations on finding good quality wood kitchen cabinets, countertops, tile flooring and new appliances. The cost was more than fair. Unlike others, the start and finish date was on the mark. When any questions came up, Tim Steinwinder resolved them quickly and amicably. Steinwinder Remodeling did a great job remodeling the downstairs of my town house. We put in hardwood floors, re-tiled the fireplace, replaced all the kitchen cabinets, counters and appliances. We communicated well about what was to be done. The work was done well, on time and budget. I am happy with the result.

I have hired this company for a makeover of my condo rental property, which included new flooring, a complete re-finishing of two bathrooms, including re-finishing of showers, tubs and replacement of toilets. We hired Tim to completely remodel our town home. The project includes building a new master closet and bathroom, fixing the hallway & downstairs bathrooms, a brand new kitchen, relocating the laundry room, and upgrading all the sliding doors & windows. We interviewed several contractors and decided to work with Tim. His bid was the most detailed one and his price is very competitive. Through Tim's focus on details, he caught an architectural error in our plans and worked with the architect to come up with a solution. Steinwinder Remodeling and Construction was recommended to me by a local realtor in my area. I had a small job updating my master bedroom, which Tim Steinwinder was able to fit in between two larger projects he had scheduled. We considered ourselves lucky that he did, because Tim and his crew were efficient and very competent. They hung new drywall and hand-textured the room. They did some relatively minor, but helpful electrical work (putting a light in the closet where none had existed for all the years we have lived in our house) and adding sconces on one wall. Lastly, they installed bamboo flooring to match what was already installed in other rooms. Tim had helpful suggestions. We would hire them again.

I worked with Tim Steinwinder Construction for at least 8 years before retiring from real estate and relocation. He was my contractor, handyman, and all things construction expert. Tim was 100% kind and patient with all of my clients, no matter what their temperament was. His skills were multi-faceted from his architectural drawing background to the smallest handyman job and a deep knowledge of almost all elements of what it takes to do remodeling or new construction. Tim responds to emails and texts quickly, putting him in the new age, so that you didn't have to chase him down constantly as I had to do with most other contracts. When he promised a job would get done at a certain time, it was. He even did written quotes for bids on jobs as well as comprehensive billing statements for time and materials. We hired Steinwinder Construction to help us with our kitchen project (which was a complete overhaul - removing walls, new wiring, lighting, new plumbing, drywall, the works, etc). Tim and his team were great. I thought the quality and craftsmanship of his work was very high and we are still very happy with end result 2 years later.
