We hired Barbara Anderson of &Ink Design to renovate our London pied-à-terre which had previously been rented out to tenants. Barbara was able to create a sophisticated and luxurious feel while accentuating the original Victorian features. We particularly love the way she increased the internal door heights which has really transformed the space and light of the flat, and her bathroom and kitchen designs using high-end materials such as marble and stone. Barbara is a super-organised professional who employs clear processes, communicating clearly and providing timely updates, which means there is little room for misunderstandings along the way (a characteristic not to be underestimated). She is a fair and honest broker and I trust her implicitly. The fact that we live abroad and were only periodically following the project is a great testament to her creative and organisational abilities. I would have no hesitation in recommending Barbara to anyone embarking on a renovation of their own!

We absolutely really love everything &INK design has done for us. It's really a dream come true. Barbara understood really well what we wanted from the refurbishment of our home, and thought of every last detail. Our home is totally transformed and the use of space is perfect. Everything feels spacious - even the additional rooms we asked her to cram in! The project was also managed very smoothly and exactly to budget, and we felt confident that our interests were being looked after at all times. This was really helpful because we travel a lot on business and could not spend much time on the project ourselves. We strongly recommend her to you.

This project involved the complete renovation of two flats in a purpose-built apartment block in Chelsea for our own family's use. The services consisted of drawing up plans and specs, conducting a competitive tender for the works, negotiating and drawing up a contract with the selected contractor, overseeing the works during the six month construction and redecoration period, addressing issues as they came up, issuing interim certificates of progress, and ensuring completion and delivery at the end. Despite (or, perhaps, because of) the small size of the flats, this was a complex project that required a high degree of attention to detail, a flexible and creative approach to design and construction, effective management of the contractor, and continuous communication with us to ensure the result was not just according to the plan, but also in line with our evolving expectations as the works progressed. This was done extremely professionally, effectively, and at the same time with a very friendly and understanding approach, giving us peace of mind and reassurance that Barbara was looking after our interests and delivering exactly what we needed. At the end, the result exceeded our expectations, was delivered on budget, with a small delay which was due to supply issues but was managed well and used to negotiate some additional works at no extra cost, and has given us two stunning properties of outstanding design, quality of construction and functionality, with minimal hassle for us and within our expected budget. All in all, we cannot recommend Barbara highly enough - she is an extremely intelligent, knowledgeable, creative and fun person to work with, an outstanding architect and designer and a highly reliable project manager.

I've recently photographed a project for &INK Design in Central London and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Barbara is a friendly and approachable person and yet very enthusiastic, professional and knowledgeable in her field. She has got great attention to detail and is loaded with buckets of creativity. The communication went very smooth and she was very clear about her requirements but yet gave me the flexibility to put my own mark on my work. The project, a modern 3 bedroom apartment with plenty of natural light, a roof top terrace and a huge open space living room & kitchen is an incredibly smartly done conversion where &INK Design literally flipped the typical 2 story house on its head. This allowed them to create a very large and bright living space with access to a roof top terrace. Overall a great experience working with &INK Design and would be more than happy to recommend them and work with them again.

I recently worked with &INK Design on a photoshoot in Chelsea. Barbara had a clear vision of what she wanted from the shoot, and gave me instructions on what shots and features she wanted to show. It was great working with someone who knew exactly what they wanted, and a clear vision. Pointing out the small details, and craftsmanship of the design. I have a 1 bed apt in South Kensington which was turned into a 2 bed. Barbara Anderson was the architect for the "transformation" and she did a brilliant job of bringing the wow factor into the new space. She has a great sense of spatial awareness and bringing out the maximum potential in any area she works with. That can be enhancing the grandeur of a large high ceiling living room or making the maximum use of every little corner available. Barbara also designed the living space of a ground floor 3 bedroom flat I have in Fulham. Again with her creativity and sense of light and lines it is a really fun and cozy space now filled with light and most importantly in crowded central London, much thought is put into making the most effect of each space available. I would highly recommend her to anyone thinking to recreate their home.
