I am thrilled to share my recommendation of Andrea Cross of Axel Interiors. Andrea took the time, not only to get to know our tastes but also to get a feel for the flow of our house. Her communication skills and efficiency are outstanding and she prepared a realistic time and action schedule within our budget and our timeline ( the latter of which was admittedly a bit unrealistic). Her exquisite taste was matched by her knowledge which showed themselves in virtually every aspect of design and decorating. Throughout her engagement, Andrea educated us about design and decorating decisions that we were making which made the experience more fun and interesting than I could have ever imagined. Andrea made efficient use of her suppliers; tradespeople; live auctions and on line auctions and sites and, throughout the process, always being able to explain why some choices were better than others. It is worth mentioning that Andrea's record keeping and billing is clear; concise and fair. I can honestly say that Andrea has been one of the most exemplary and professional individuals that I have ever retained. I can not recommend her strongly enough. We will miss the creativity she brought to our life during this process.

She puts a lot of thought and time into each and every project and makes the most beautiful selections always with her clients in mind. Interior decorators make me very nervous. I'm not sure enough of my "taste" so I think they are going to head me towards something I will end up not liking. However, Andrea at Axel Interiors has changed all that. The first project she did for me was a powder room that needed a complete cosmetic overhaul. After seeing the rest of the house and getting to know me and that I love color and odd things, she came up with a wonderful, pricey wallpaper with huge swimming carp, lovely slender wall sconces to fit in a tight space, and then took me to Home Depot for the cabinet and towel bars etc. She not only has lovely taste and a good eye, but also knows where to spend money and where not, based on usage, etc etc. Three years later, I still get compliments from guests and love using the room myself. Andrea has also worked with my husband on the decoration of his new offices. She has the patience of a saint, and, possibly a hidden degree in Psychology.. She is excellent at sizing up the needs, living style and personality of her clients as she brings you samples of fabric and furniture. Personally, I think she also has a gift for helping you select art for a new space as she has a personal appreciation and doesn't just view it as a room decoration. Her knowledge of antiques from her previous work is extensive and very helpful. This year Andrea and I have been working on our very long, thin living room. She offered me a number of layouts; some using our old furniture, some with all new, some with a mixture; all of which solved our seating problems. She will work as quickly or as leisurely as her client wants and is always available by phone. She is a problem solver, a trades person provider, and a calm reassurer when needed, and she is respected by the people with whom she works. She can sense when I am getting overwhelmed, and cheerily leaves samples for me to think about. When asked, she will volunteer her personal opinion but usually provides excellent pros and cons to help make a decision. She has gently helped me modernize and sophisticate our living room, but did make sure I have an ottoman covered by fabric with lots of large breathing dragons so I know it is still MY room. With regard to money; Andrea is clear about her fees, respectful of your budget and appropriate with invoicing. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I have been a devoted fan of Andrea Cross, the proprietor of Axel Interiors, for over a decade. She initially served as my interior decorator when I moved into my home, advising on color palette, paint, furniture, and fixtures. I particularly adore my front hall that welcomes guests with a beautiful stenciled stairwell that ties together all the rooms off it as well as the roman shades throughout my home. The result was a look that was classic and incorporated a mix of new and my parents' furniture while also working in a household with two active kids. Subsequently, she created a new bathroom for my boys with a cool subway tile theme and assured our basement renovation met our myriad of needs - mancave, fitness center, workshop and music studio. She has now brought her commitment to quality, her creative flair and great taste to Axel Interiors. She has curated an incredible collection of uniquely crafted, maker-made items. Happy she is helping me develop a fresher look for my home!

Andrea Cross from Axel interiors helped with three different projects. I appreciated her knowledge and sense of style, but also her flexibility and openness to include my ideas and finds in the design. Andrea kept me informed in all steps of the project and tried her best to accommodate schedules for delivery and make things right when we had an issue with a piece that was damaged in transit. The customer service after the sale was also excellent when we needed some touch ups for things. Her store has beautiful selections that can spark creative ideas.
