Lisa is a designer who from her first appointment relaxes you with her personal warmth and professionalism. And then it begins. I can only describe it as her " brand of wonderful". To a pair of empty nesters short on time, beset by professional and personal responsibilities who have downsized and decided to " start again" , she is a life line. New house, new style with the need to make good purchases to set us up for the fun part of life, which was few years away then, but nevertheless, our exciting next stage. Where to begin? I remember Lisa's first email which literally incorporated our together "wish list". We had already tried working with another designer. And ended that association, as this person focused on what she liked and not what what our needs were! Lisa looked at the pragmatics, budgetary considerations and the fact that we wanted a home that was both stylish and would stand the test of time. However, we needed that with something extra. That extra was definitely what Lisa brought to our home. Eight years on and I still have people walking into our home commenting on the warmth and style it exudes. And it is a home to entertain in, to relax in, to be comfortable in. Lisa made it so simple for us. She set up meetings at times that suited us, at places we had never been to. Our mementos were incorporated into our home. Be it simple postcards we picked up in Paris that were framed and found a spot in a dull corridor. Steps leading into our main living area needing a safety railing. Lisa found us a beautifully crafted metal railing that is stunning, fun and does the job! Our entertainment area incorporated our kitchen, dining and living area. Lisa filled it wonderfully with furniture that completely took advantage of our downsized dimensions. A wonderful dining table suited to the needs of multifaceted entertaining. Be it a dinner party for 12; a family buffet or zealous grandchildren to come! Comfy dining chairs that you can sit on and enjoy all night,. Fantastic quality and comfortable many seated leather couches. Multi-purpose stools that fit around the bench or table to give extra seating. All in one space. Set off by beautiful cushions.lighting, "pieces", carpets, flooring, window furnishings, artwork and much more with regard to other rooms in our home. Lisa also assisted with outdoor lighting and seating to incorporate our plans. Lisa's contacts to professional services are outstanding. Be it master craftsmen, trades people, bespoke furniture, artwork or a multitude of other well priced alternatives. Leave this up to Lisa. Her contacts are reputable and excellent and what sets her apart from other designers. Yes I would recommend Lisa and do, to family and friends. And return to her with questions or advise for the future. A quick call, suggestion and a visit and I am off again, in the right direction!

Lisa from Barlisa Design has helped me with several design projects in my home over several years. I have always gone back to using her as she’s professional, has great taste and is so easy to work with. We were moving into a Victorian terrace which had been renovated in the 90’s but was in need of some redesign of space & contemporizing. We enlisted Balisa and have been thrilled with the entire process and outcome. Lisa was such a pleasure to work with! She listened carefully to our brief and then went about creating beautiful spaces in our home with her fabulous eye for colour, style, balance, texture and that little ‘wow’. We had Balisa take us from tiling, flooring, fit-outs, painting, lighting and furnishings. Lisa was completely consultative but with a clear direction for our home making selection processes so easy & without pressure. We were very impressed by the way she worked seamlessly with other professionals (clearly develops great rapport), we remained in budget and on time - a very efficient process. After searching for an interior designer and someone to help out with moving into our new house, I decided to go with Lisa at Balisa. I am so happy with my decision! I have always avoided seeking an interior designer’s help as I was scared they would push all my ideas aside - but this was far from the case with Lisa! She was absolutely amazing! Lisa was so open to all of my ideas and hopes for my new Home and she was able to put them into a reality. Whilst being able to listen to my ideas, she was able to put her amazing spin on everything. Her creative and sheek sense of style has made my home into the perfect space for myself and my family. From fabrics to tiles and bench tops to furniture - everything was spectacular. What made my experience with Lisa so amazing was that I didn’t have to devote much time to the project at all. She was on top of everything! Since moving into our new home we have received so many compliments on not only our sheek kitchen but the immaculate styling throughout the entire house. Myself and my family have absolutely loved working with Lisa and we have used her at not only our family home but our beach house, our offices and rental properties. Each project she has completed with us has been an amazing experience and we couldn’t fault any of these spaces after her work. She has been so clever with styling things to not only look gorgeous but with ensuring they are practical for their needs. We wouldn’t go through anyone else other than Lisa ever again! She’s a confident, stylish, cooperative and amazing interior designer. We can’t wait to work with her again as soon as possible. Couldn’t recommend her more!

Having worked with Lisa on many projects over the last 11 years, I can honestly recommend her as a truly talented professional. The interior concepts that I have seen Lisa put together for her clients are always to their brief and perfected in a lasting manner. Lisa's use of colour and blend of mediums, styles and textures, creates a contemporary blend that works in a transitional style. I would highly recommend Lisa for any size project and interior.
