The team at Contempo was a pleasure to work with. With so many iterations back and forth, they never had any attitude! They were usually very quick to respond to emails and calls. They were very honest and told us their opinions and suggestions, not just to please us! They designed us a very beautiful house that we can’t wait to move into!

I recently worked with Marin and his team on the architectural design of my new custom home. Contempo Studio was actually recommended to me by another architectural (who is very well regarded but was not willing to design a transitional house) which was the first positive sign. This was my first time working with an architect and Marin made the process so easy, was always available to answer questions and accommodate my many requests, and got through the committee of adjustment process (and an amendment to the permit) with no issues at all. He was also extremely responsive to my numerous emails at all hours of the day. This is my dream home thanks to Marin and his team and I can’t wait to see the end result, but if I ever do build another house, I would hire Contempo Studio again without hesitation!

We could not recommend Contempo Studio highly enough! After meeting with Marin to discuss our project and reviewing their past work, we were very impressed and felt extremely comfortable and excited to work with him. Marin and his team are not only highly knowledgeable about home construction, but innovative designers with fresh and modern ideas. We were looking to design a two-storey custom home on a reverse pie-shaped lot. The difficult lot shape would have normally resulted in many design challenges, but Marin was able to present us with design ideas that we never would have dreamed possible, while keeping the overall aesthetic of the design as we had initially envisioned. In addition, we had to consider the position of our home on the lot and its orientation. Marin worked hard to develop solutions that maximized curb appeal and livability, while designing a home that remained consistent with the character of new homes in the neighbourhood. He has a very hands-on approach and has provided us with a high-level of customer service. Marin has always been accessible and promptly returns phone calls, which we appreciated and helped to create a pleasant working relationship. We would not hesitate to hire Contempo Studio again for any of our future development work.

Contempto Studio has been nothing but extraordinary throughout our entire new build process in west end Toronto. We presented with extremely high demands as well as a very tight deadline. Marin understood our goal and with his knowledge, every obstacle was addressed. Our complicated 2nd floor addition / home renovation was located in Toronto West End. After working with another architect from Richmond Hill (not familiar with City of Toronto's by-laws and requirements), where we had a horrible experience, wasted our money and ended up with unfinished work, we decided to cut our losses mid-way and change consultants. We were referred to Marin from another talented architect who we wanted to engage based on positive neighbor referrals, but she wasn't available to do any work at the time. She therefore, referred us to Marin at Contempo Studio and had vouched for his work and confirmed that our style for our home reno would fit well with Marin's previous work and experience. From initial contact to first introduction, Marin was pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. He is punctual and has a very calm demeanor which is appreciated during a stressful time. When we first met at our home, he quickly understood our vision for our home and was able to grasp the scope of the complicated renovation / 2nd floor addition very quickly. He was very cognizant of our budget and given the scope of work we planned on doing he was able to manage our expectations as well as timelines in undertaking a project of this nature and scope. Marin was always frank in providing guidance in the design process and kept us apprised of where our city approvals were at. His office being located in Toronto's West End also provided us comfort that he is very familiar with the neighbourhood and the City of Toronto process. We engaged Contempo Studio to complete all our drawings (architectural, structural, and HVAC), submit our permit applications and coordinated with the City as needed. We are currently still in construction / renovation mode, but until now, we are very pleased with Marin's work thus far and the continued service / expertise he provides to clarify issues as needed throughout the renovation. Because we are so happy with Marin, we even referred him to a neighbour for their renovation project which they engaged and he's also completed with complete satisfaction.
