When it was time to knock down our family beach house and build a bigger home for our expanding family, I am so glad I found Tom Degnan! Tom has amazing design skills and a great eye for detail. He is enthusiastic, very easy to work with and truly a wonderful person. Tom, David and all the Degnan Design crew, listened to what I wanted and offered excellent options within our budget. worked with DDG/DDB on a house renovation project that is nearing completion, and I have to say they have a great approach and team . From the office administration & design team to the carpenters, craftsman & laborers, they were great team to work on my project . I would highly recommend DDG/DDB for anyone who is seeking a single ‘design/build’ process rather then hiring an architect, going through the bidding process with several GC’s , which I found to be too much time and hassles.

We hired DDG/DDB to design and manage the renovation and expansion of our ‘split – level’ home. We wanted more living space as our kids were "soon to be" teenagers and we recognized that we would be looking to accommodate both the adults and the teens in their own separate areas. We didn't know what to expect since we knew that the split level is not an easy house to add on to. The DDG team spent the time to listen to our needs and wants, yet still considerate of our budget. We were so happy when the DDG team came up with a very creative design to expand the house & dramatically improve the homes circulation. Their ability to see beyond the existing layout and envision an open and flowing design was just what we needed. Now, our home is the source of continuous “wows” from visitors who expect a typical ‘split level’ yet we have a spacious multi level home which is ideal for our family. We truly enjoy hosting get-togethers as our Family & friends love and enjoy our home as much as we do. Degnan Design is a fantastic design/ build team– highly recommended !

This was a unique renovation project, we purchased an ornate single family home built in 1905 that was later divided into two apartments & the main residence – which we converted back to a single family home including with expanded living area. Tom Degnan, served as the lead architect & builder for DDB, he has the unique ability to listen to the client(s) and understand and align what is required for creatively designing, budgeting financially and building it so that it is practical and structurally sound. The design and build aspect of DDB allows for client agility and flexibility throughout that we just would not have had without DBB handling both aspects. Degnan Design Build was the architect and builder of our renovation project. From a tired, 4 bedroom, 3 bath Tudor, we now have a 6 bedroom, 5 1'2 bath seashore home. The project took 11 months from bare studs to completion. Everything went very smoothly, as our builder was on site consistently and although we were not living in the house, he was always available for us. All of the subs were most professional and provided oonly the highest quality work. The result of this renovation far exceeded our expectations.

I met Tom in 2002 when we hired him to draw plans for a renovation for our Avon by the Sea home. The renovation turned out to be a total rebuild that we could not be happier with. Tom was great throughout the building process, always available to answer questions with innovative solutions. Not only is Tom creative and listens to your needs in order to deliver exactly what you want, but his staff is accommodating and helpful as well. I have no problem recommending Tom and Degnan Design Group for any of your building needs.

The plans and permit approvals were done in a timely professional manner. Degnan design was flexible in making subtle yet important changes to our plan. I found him to be very talented as a designer, as well as a great partner in the challenging process of renovating a home. He listened carefully to our needs, was respectful of our time and budget and thought of things we had not considered, for which we were quite grateful afterwards. We hired a local builder since our home is in Morris County, and Tom and his team worked really well with them. We would absolutely hire Tom and his team again for any home renovation projects we consider in the future.
