Emily did great work at my house. From start to finish, she was great to work with and my home looks awesome. She was professional and hands on during the project. I would recommend anyone looking for a designer to hire Emily.

We have worked with Emily Lamarque Design Studio on 5 projects over the last 8 years. We have been extremely pleased with the outcome of each of the 5 projects. The first step in the design process was meeting with Emily. In that first meeting Emily asks lots of questions to determine what our wants and needs are. She makes the design process very easy and time efficient. She puts together a design board with her vision based on our feedback and then we tell her what we like and don't like and then she keeps narrowing down the design process until it's exactly what we want. She is a very creative and talented designer. All 5 projects have been unique and she truly brought the design boards to life.

Emily LaMarque is an incredible talent. A super strong asset to any project. She is highly skilled in all aspects of design and has a full understanding of construction. We have done several projects together and I find her to have amazing sensibilities when it comes to both the function and the esthetic. (Emily’s sense of color and light are a true gift) Just as critical she understands your needs, while providing prompt communication and the necessary coordination between trades to finish. The best part of The Emily LaMarque Design firm is getting to work with Emily. High Energy, Competent, punctual and a genuinely happy spirit to be around. Her projects reflect this energy: sophisticated, elegant and dynamic; while also fully reflective of the occupant. She makes building a new space what it should be.. Fun. Emily is one of the most creatively talented and sincere people you will ever meet, I highly recommend her.

We hired Emily LaMarque Design Studio to do the interior design of our newly renovated home. We started with nothing (not even a couch to sit on!) and now we have a beautiful home for our family of 4 that we find aesthetically pleasing and that also fits our family's lifestyle. I have already recommended ELDS to several friends and colleagues for their own design projects. When people visit our home their first question is "did you do all of this yourself?" to which I am tempted to reply "yes" but honesty won't allow it. Working with Emily was a pleasure. She was very flexible in terms of scheduling in-person visits and check-ins. She was also readily available by phone and email. The project was delivered on-time and at the expected budget. For the few instances where a particular material was not available or cost-prohibitive I was quickly notified and alternatives were offered. She is a true professional. I would describe my style as Palm Beach modern maximalist and my husband has a mid-century modern aesthetic. Emily was able to blend our tastes to produce an effect that we both find enjoyable. She has a huge breadth of resources available from which to draw not only for design ideas but also to make those ideas reality. In addition to helping us find furniture, she designed and had manufactured built-in furniture for our breakfast nook and a completely custom office. Her drapery production team did top-notch work and the wallpaper hanger was excellent. In summary, I can't recommend Emily LaMarque Design Studio enough. I will definitely be using the service again!

Emily LaMarque is completely fantastic to work with. She helped us in many areas ranging from exterior design to interior design and furniture selection in our massive house remodel. We essentially rebuilt our home from scratch which felt like a very daunting task, for me. Emily was there with us from start to finish. Emily came to meetings we had with our contractor and vendors and often felt like an advocate, for me, when I was unsure about the many choices that had to be made in our home construction. Emily really paid attention to our style choices and really listened to what it was we wanted to accomplish. She surpassed all of our expectations. She is diplomatic, knowledgeable in her choice of vendors, extremely professional and has a beautiful eye for design. My husband and I are in love with our new home and all of the personal touches Emily helped make possible. We couldn't have done it without her and I will forever be grateful for her help.

We used Emily as our designer for a smallish project (powder room redesign). She drew up the plans so we didn't need an architect, which was great, because we already kind of knew how we wanted things to be laid out. She was very intuitive, and she was good at picking up on our style preferences. She was able to create a plan and help us pick materials and finishes that really complemented our old house but still looked up to date.

I hired Emily to help decorate my home. Not only does Emily have the most amazing eye for design, but she's the sweetest person you will ever meet. You can tell from the moment you meet her, she really cares for her clients. She was beyond patient with me and she never rushed my decisions. She never made me feel like I was a pain or taking too much of her time. She always came from a sympathetic, understanding heart. She has such amazing taste and turned my home into a dream home that looked like it belonged in a magazine. I will never use anyone else!

My wife and I moved earlier this year to a house in San Francisco that we are renting. We wanted to make the jump from our pieced together "college" style rooms to a professionally designed solution for our living, dining and "powder" rooms. The challenge is we are renting so were limited in what we could do and tighter on our budget. We knew just who to call - Emily LaMarque at Emily LaMarque Design Studio. She came highly referred and we reviewed her work and loved it. What was great is that she was willing to do a custom solution remotely. We sent her pictures, videos and measurements of our space and sent her 15 pictures of our ideal rooms from Houzz, as well as our budget. Emily then custom designed everything, and sent us a full design plan including pictures of all the pieces, a floor plan of where they would be placed and how things should look. She helped us order stuff, and for things that were out of stock or we wanted to change she worked to find awesome alternatives. Our rooms look amazing! Sophisticated, beautiful, and adult! My wife and I are delighted and thank Emily for all her hard work on this project. We can't wait to buy a house so we can bring in Emily full time for a full design. Thank you, Emily!!!

I rarely write reviews but I had to make an exception in this case. Emily is AMAZING. Her ideas and sense of design, combined with her EXTREME attention to detail and organization resulted in a finished product that I am in love with! She brought such a unique and beautiful design aesthetic into my home while still working around my tastes and ultimately expanding my tastes. The icing on the cake is that she is wonderful person...one of the most enjoyable I have ever worked with.

At 33 and 35, my husband and I just moved in to our first “adult” home in the heart of San Francisco. (Read: first time NOT in a 1000 sq foot apartment in San Fran). We both knew how incongruous it would be to move our college/newlywed/survived-a-baby furniture into our new “adult” surroundings. Only problem was that hubby and I are totally design challenged! In all honesty, we are those people who bought every piece of merchandise from an entire nursery store display area for our daughter’s room; that is how we did our baby nursery! CALL IN EMILY LAMARQUE!!!! Working with Emily LaMarque on an e-design was almost too easy. We emailed her a sketch of the entryway/living room/dining room area with all measured dimensions, some photos taken on my iphone, and a budget. Then we chatted a bit about what we liked/didn’t like/etc. In no time, Emily came back to us with a HUGE email including links for all the furniture (even some choices for a low cost option vs. a higher cost item!) and a picture board. Hubby and I were in love with 99% of what we were presented. How often does that happen with a designer??? Emily worked with us to order all of the pieces (some I was able to order myself online and others required a designer’s account). Emily came in only a tad above our budget, but that was expected, right?!?! (Especially if you know my husband and how low of a budget he tried to keep!) In the end we finished our living room and dining room areas in about 6 weeks; which I know is unusually quick- even for e-design services! There were a couple small hiccups in dealing with an online retailer however what I couldn’t accomplish as a mere customer, Emily gladly and quickly resolved for me in her professional capacity. The smile my hubby gets on his face when we have friends over and the inevitable “wow your place is amazing” comment is said, is worth every penny of our adult home makeover! Hubby and I couldn’t be happier with Emily’s work; next year we will definitely have her back to makeover the upstairs!

Emily LaMarque has impeccable style and a keen eye for details that make the rooms she designs not only stunning to look at but also unique and personal. She is a truly talented designer whose positive attitude and professionalism made her a joy to work with. In fact, we've worked with her on two separate renovation projects. Once I hired her, she reviewed my favorite pics from houzz.com and other photos to learn my aesthetic. She then generated plans that reflected her research and satisfied my desire for lots of choices when it came to materials. When I'd forgotten what I liked about a particular pic, Emily was able to tell me; so basically she knew my style better than I did. She communicated clearly with me, with my contractor, with my hard-to-please husband and got along well with everyone involved. She was prompt to our meetings and readily available by cell phone. When the shower hardware we selected impaired our water pressure, she was on it immediately and contacted additional plumbers to get to the bottom of the issue. Even my husband was impressed with the results. We love our house (and so do our friends and family) thanks to Emily!

Emily provided design services for our master bathroom remodel project. Emily is wonderful to work with. She is extremely bright, knowledgable and great with colors, styles and materials. I highly recommend her for any new construction or remodel design projects for the home.
