David was outstanding to work with. He showed up on time for our appointment and was extremely accessible during the planning stages and finally the install of the Pavers. He offered great design ideas but was eager to design what we had envisioned. Will definitely be using him and exterior concepts again for future projects.

These guys are the ultimate professionals. Come with an idea and turn Dave loose. He is an outdoor living space artist and will transform that not so special back yard into something you never thought it could be! He showed me several of his past projects, several in advertisements for decking companies. If you want it done right, on time and for a fair price, look no further.

This company and it's owner, David Hetrick, had a landscape and lighting contract with me which was to be done in 2 weeks. It dragged on for 3 months and it is still not done. They planted sod infected with fungus, they installed defective lighting and they messed up my back yard digging to replace irrigation. The sod is mostly still dead, the back yard still in shambles and some of the lighting still not functioning. Their responsiveness is not only horrible , it is non existent. I called and text the owner multiple times and was totally ignored as if I did not exist, this in spite of paying him $ 12,000. Mr. Hetrick took my deposits thru the completion of the job and literally checked out along with my money. The crew of laborers was changed daily, and consisted of men they probably picked up at Home Depot as they damaged my irrigation and installed sod over irrigation heads, like sloppy armatures. Two supervisors were hired and fired during this job and they never came back to complete the work. This company is a scam and the owner of the company is a dishonest businessman to put it kindly. Stay away.

David Hetrick is a remarkable artist. He looked at our mucky backyard and envisioned the beautiful yard that he created with the chocolate terrazzo paved patio. The title says it all. David is an artist and produces a beautiful sculptured haven in your outdoor space making it magical and enchanting every single day. A place of serenity and peace. Your safe place that you can relax and enjoy year round. We have been customers for 4 years now and have given Dave many referrals. Over the years his work is still in excellent condition and has held up to the severe weather conditions in Tampa, Florida. We won Yard of the Month in our Seminole Heights community and were on the Home Tour too. Dave has installed shade structures, decks and balconies for us. He did our fire pit and located it in an area where we can experience the beauty that surrounds us in our backyard. His imagination is endless. Dave took an aboveground pool that was dropped into a deck and turned it into a split level outdoor kitchen with a four sided fireplace and benches that you can sit on with built in planters for plants and flowers. He built a bar on the other side of the outdoor kitchen where we can engage in conversation with our guests while eating and drinking and enjoy the view which overlooks the Hillsborough River. Dave also relocated our spa so we have a 210 degree view of the river and our entire backyard. Location of the different vignettes he created is key in making our outdoor space an ongoing experience. His work is outstanding. His work has added emotional satisfaction and has increased our real estate value tremendously. Dave is your guy to beautify your yard and garden. We hired David to install a roof cover for slatted pool house. He replaced a ribbed plastic cover with a clear acrylic sheet. When he installed the acrylic, he cut it into uneven pieces and was haphazardly attached to the wooden slats. Subsequently, each time it rained, the cover leaked significantly on our furniture. He came back out to try to repair the leaks to no avail. Finally, he sent his carpenter to correct the problem. The carpenter installed pieces of plywood on top of the acrylic, which you can see from underneath the pool house. I cannot recommend this company, for they seem much more interested in getting paid than doing a quality job.

I came to David Hetrick at Exterior Concepts with an unusual space and some non-traditional design ideas. He and his entire crew were a pleasure to work with, from the deck, to the screens, to the water features. They helped us realize our vision and provided quality services.

Exterior Concepts built a beautiful waterfall on the natural pond on my property. I have a yoga studio named the Lotus Pond and the addition of the waterfall on the Pond not only enhanced the view from the studio, but, also provides circulation in the Pond, creating a healthy environment for fish and deterring invasive plants. The waterfall blends in so well with the natural environment that students have actually asked if it was manmade? I love this waterfall. It adds a wonderful feel to my property and i am so impressed by the artistic/skillful workmanship of Exterior Concepts.

Dave and his crew have completed 3 projects on my home and I have been overwhelmed with the quality of work done each time. They have went above and beyond to meet our timelines and made sure that our home was ready and presentable for our NYE party.
