Exceptional long distance job. I live in Los Angeles and have a second floor condo in Santa Cruz. Over the phone, I consulted with several flooring companies. Zack was the most knowledge and I immediately trusted him with the project. He consulted the HOA, prepared the necessary paperwork, picked out bamboo and cork as the best soundproof material for a second floor condo. He even picked out the darkness of the bamboo that would best fit my condo. Without any supervision, as I could not go to Santa Cruz, he completed the job on time and on budget. His choice of materials, color of bamboo and layout were perfect. He sent me photos of the job in progress and communicated via text with me almost daily. He is an interior designer and floor installer in one.

Floor Huggers installed floors for us in an old cottage. The sub-floors were wonky, but our new hardwoods are straight and perfect. Thanks again. Great team. Very neat with our property. Very eco-friendly. We highly recommend! Then the team deconstructed our old house (not the cottage). It had a foundation problem and could not be saved. But I hated the idea that everything would go in the landfill. Not with Zach. He made sure to save as much as we could and we worked with an appraiser to donate it, and recoup the extra cost of deconstruction vs. demolition. That was a win-win. Thanks again.

I pulled up an old brick hearth, and gave Floor Huggers the challenge of making the hardwood underneath the bricks blend with the rest of the living room floor. Zach responded quickly to my phone call, and his installer did an amazing job. I couldn't be happier with the way the floor looks now, and I appreciated the professionalism, skill and timeliness of everyone involved. The price was very reasonable. I will definitely call them again for any flooring needs.

Floor Huggers installed engineered wood flooring throughout my condo. Zach was responsive and made every effort to let me know my options. The final product was really beautiful. There were a few imperfections, some unavoidable due to the concrete slab being uneven. Again, Zach communicated and explained what to expect for the end result. Zach at Floor Huggers is very consultative and wants to be sure he understands your project goals and needs and that together you come to the right solution for your project before you move forward. Initially I was open to a lot of color/wood options so he worked closely with me to see what was available form local sources and then sample many colors on the final wood product I picked. The selection process was also a challenge as I was balancing budget as well as environmental performance issues. Selecting new floors is a very personal process and a long term choice and Zach hung in there and supported me through that process. Zach is very detail oriented and has high standards for quality so his direct installation resulted in a wonderful floor with smooth transitions, nice board selection at transitions, nice board placement in the field (the tan oak I chose is very figured and varied so it was important to distribute that around) and nice quality installation of treads on the stairs including angle cutting for two 90 degree jogs. I chose to use a locally harvested and milled tan oak from for environmental reasons and then applied a two process stain to achieve the color and depth I was looking for. Zach worked well with these square cut boards which have slight variations in the cut unlike engineered product. He has experience with this wood. Zach also knew about some exciting chemical reactive stain processes that added depth and interest under my colored hard wax final treatment and did a wonderful job with all the steps to treating the wood, All in all I have what is probably a one of kind floor at this point with a superbly installed locally milled tan oak with a two part finish treatment that adds depth and character to the floors and I am very happy with the process and product.

Floor Huggers performed the job at hand in a timely manner and at a reasonable price. They kept their word and honored our agreement. I would recommend Floor Huggers to my neighbors.
