Harding Design and Construction did a wonderful job on our ADU bathroom and bedroom addition. Highly recommend!! Everyone who works for them is a master in their craft. They provided quality service, work, and design suggestions. They had to lift a wall into place by crane because we are so close to our neighbor! After moving into my new home, I knew it needed a lot of help but had no idea how to get there. I've been working with Harding Design and Construction for about 6 months now as we go through the plans and permitting process with the city. Although this has been extremely confusing on my end HDC makes this stage of the project very easy going and takes all the pressure off me. Wes has been great about listening to what I was looking for, as well as, working within the budget parameters I had in mind. He's been extremely organized, very responsive, and most importantly, fantastic at helping me narrow down choices. Would absolutely recommend.

You cannot go wrong with Wes and his team! We built a new ADU in our backyard after tearing down an old 1920’s garage. They did a spectacular job envisioning and communicating the project as a whole and easily broke it down to every little detail in between that you wouldn’t even think of. Each contractor and sub-contractor that worked on our project was respectful of our property, friendly, detail-oriented, and left high quality results. There were some challenges during the design and construction due to the city requirments, which is expected given the scope of the project. However, the team handled these challenges very effectively and professionally and the met all of our expectations! There is no doubt that I will hire Harding Design & Construction again, thanks again guys!

We've just started working with Wes and his team with Harding Design and Construction and we are extremely happy with their services. My husband and I are in the process of remodeling our first home together and we were very overwhelmed with the overall process and didn’t know where to start. Ever since Wes has jumped in, things have been going very smoothly, we feel more confident with our home building process and have loved all of the suggestions thus far. Harding Construction did a room/kitchen add-on and complete kitchen remodel for us in Huntington Beach. We added on about 200 sq ft to our kitchen and did a complete gut job down to the studs. They are a design/build firm, so it was one-stop shop from the design/planning stage all the way through permits and execution. Highly recommend this process. Communication was good and Wes is a nice, honest person. He is trustworthy and we did not have any major problems during the remodel, other than it took a bit longer than we expected. But, the Covid shut down happened in the middle of our project, so I’m sure some/most (but maybe not all) of the delay was due to that. It’s been a year since our project was completed and as more time passes we are even more happy with the result. Very high-quality, good design, and we are very happy with the final project. There were minor things here and there, but like I said earlier, no major problems…. and that’s saying a lot given the scope of the project and the horror stories we hear from friends and neighbors. Overall we are very satisfied with the final project and would recommend Harding Construction.

By the time we called Harding Design and Construction, we were at the end of our rope. This was a serious a case of ‘love it or list it’. 2 adults, 2 kids, and 1 big ol’ dog in a very compartmentalized 1947 home was not working for us anymore. We knew we probably could not make changes to the size of our modest home, but we were convinced we could improve the flow. When it came to interviewing contractors, I was excited but still a bit gun shy because I had heard endless horror stories about dishonest contractors, sky high costs and ½ finished remodels. However, we knew very early on that Harding Design and Construction would be different. Throughout the bid process they demonstrated professionalism, consistency and open communication. We took Wes’ actions early on to be a sign of things to come and after meeting with 2 other contractors we signed on with Wes. I would not say our remodel was a walk in the park; of course, we ran into the inevitable problems that surface when you open the walls of an old home (and remain living in the home throughout the process). Yet Wes, Mary and Aaron were with us every step of the way. I would be remiss if I did not touch on each of them for one moment: •Wes is methodical and professional. He never came to us with a problem he did not already have a solution for. •Aaron is one of the most meticulous workers I have ever met. He has an eagle eye for imperfections and the skill to fix them. •Mary’s communication, design sense and ability to keep the project exciting (even when if starts to feel long) made me feel at ease and in control. By the time, the project was complete, what had started out as a kitchen/living/dining remodel turned into a whole house makeover! There is not a room that was not touched. I will tell you with conviction I could not be more pleased with the outcome. The functionality of our home has improved by 200%. Our house now fits our needs and family perfectly. We decided to build an accessory dwelling unit for my mom so she could be closer to our kids and no longer had the burden of taking care of her home. My mom’s house was just too big and hard for her to maintain and we were not visiting with her as often as we would have liked. We also really needed someone we could trust at home with my kids until we came home from work. So we built a new ADU in my backyard from scratch, we sold my mom’s house, and she moved in with us. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made for our family. We wanted to work with a design build company to help keep track of costs along the way and make sure our ideas would match our budget. Going into it we knew our project would be complicated since it’s located in a historic district of Long Beach. We decided to hire Harding Design and Construction because Wes and his team really understood the ins-and-outs of ADUs, got back to us quickly anytime we phoned, emailed, or texted, and it was easy to see they understood our needs and goals. Harding Design and Construction provided a solid product at a reasonable price and handled all the design, permits, and construction seamlessly. Our interior designer Christy was amazing to work with. She listened to us and integrated all of our design ideas and concerns, while guiding us along. She is detailed oriented and methodical and got us every inch of storage my mom needed while freeing up space for her to work. Wes and Christy worked together to find the best design that fit our budget and our style. The renderings, construction drawings, and interior design were a tremendous help in visualizing the final product. I was really impressed with the quality, accuracy, and level of detail. They included everything from the flooring to the paint and all the little things we probably would have missed until after construction started. Mary, Arron, John, and Wes stayed in contact with us during construction. They checked in with us regularly and updated us on any progress, schedule, or changes as needed, which was not the experience I had with my last contractor who had just remodeled our bathroom. Some of the most important factors to us was the cleanliness and the scheduling and organization of the day to day construction. The daily trades and subcontractors were all amazing people, respectful, and friendly, it’s easy to see they maintain strong relationships with their workforce. With two young children and a dog in our house they were conscientious of keeping the job site clean and secure and our home usable since we were living there. We couldn't be happier with the overall experience and the final product speaks for itself; quality materials, professional service, and good people that looked out for our best interest. Harding Design and construction will most certainly be our first call since we plan on a room addition next. Thank you so much!!!

I needed a better use of the space in my home and a room addition for my growing family. We were having a new baby and we decided to turn our master bedroom into a new baby room and add-on a new master bedroom with en-suite. We were very impressed with Harding Design & Construction. The planning/design stage was very easy and it was a pleasure working with Wes and his designers who guided me through the entire process giving me their honest opinion on what the options were, what would look good and where I could save on cost if I wanted to. When the work started the Project Manager was Arron who was also very nice to deal with - letting us know how things are progressing, pointing out any issues if he saw any and how we could deal with them(we didn't really have any big issues thankfully!) and making time & himself available to talk to us about any concerns we had. For most of the project we had Paul doing the actual work and he was great - he seemed to be a real perfectionist and I was very impressed with this work, as well as how tidy he kept everything. The folks that did the Tiling also did a fantastic job! We got the master bath room we have always wanted and it looks great! And I have to mention that the follow up by Wes was also fantastic - its great when someone check ins with you and asks if everything is OK,whether we were happy! My fame can finally stretch out and we have plenty of room for our new baby.

Wes and his team from Harding Construction did a large addition and remodel to my home, and I couldn't be happier! Wes started by creating a few different design plans which took some things into consideration (like light!) which I had not considered. The project included the addition of two new bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, construction of a new garage and conversion of the existing garage to living space, expanding the front entry, installation of a tankless water heater, full insulation of both new and existing structure, installation of hardwood floors throughout, plus all of the finish carpentry and miscellaneous doo-dads. At every point through the project, Wes kept our wishes at the forefront of the project, but also helped us to remain practical so that we would not regret our choices in the future. On a personal note: We lived in the house during almost the entire construction process (Yikes, right?). You really come to know the company under those circumstances, and I would trust Harding Construction to do any work in my home, at any time. Paul (our main Harding workman) made sure to check on my 83 year old mother each morning and each evening; he truly became one of the family. You can't just buy that kind of caring. When I decide to do any future remodeling, I know I won't have to look for another company; I have already chosen Harding Construction.

This is our second time working with Harding Design and Construction. Wes is very responsive and keeps us in the loop of everything that is going on, and where they are at in the project. He always has good ideas how to make things aesthetic, energy efficient, and how to work within budget and with the existing code laws. He ties up all the loose ends well and his team of workers are always respectful of our home and privacy. We would definitely work with him again.

Wes saved the day! I moved into my condo with an incomplete master bathroom due to my previous contractor putting me on the back burner for another job. It was very stressful to say the least. I was fortunate that someone referred me to Wes for a completely different issue and he was willing to pick up where my old contractor left off. Wes was very helpful with guiding me through the best way to complete the job within my budget. A special thanks to Mary for finding a great quartz top for my vanity and to Paul for doing such great work. Wes and his team were very professional and communicative from start to finish. Harding Design and Construction was recommended to our family from one of my coworkers. As an architect, I was particularly interested in Harding construction because of their experience with energy efficient HVAC solutions and home energy upgrades. They were very professional, willing to offer advice, sensitive to our budget, and honest about the best solution for our house even before we hired them to perform the work. We eventually hired them for abatement of our existing ducts that were wrapped with asbestos insulation, a complete installation of a brand new heating and cooling system, new ducting, new water heater, and new back door. We are extremely happy with our results and highly recommend them for anyone looking for home upgrades. Our home is now very comfortable to live in during the hot summer months. In addition to the new HVAC system, the craftsmanship of their work was exceptional. As a practicing architect, the quality of the installation met each and every one of my requirements. Lastly, Harding Construction is licensed, insured, fully bonded and provides a guarantee on their work. We would definitely hire Harding Construction for future work on our house.

We recently contracted Wes Harding Construction and Sustainable Solutions to remodel our original 1947 kitchen. Wes met with us to determine the scope of our project and soon after provided us with an estimate and a detailed contract outlining all the expectations. His original estimate of cost was accurate and he provided written invoices of completed work. As the project progressed, Wes was flexible with changes we made as well as extra work we added, making appropriate suggestions to meet our kitchen needs and budget. Love working with this group!! We have worked with Wes and his team on a few projects and are always impressed with the quality of the work and the people on his team. Over the years we have had foundation work done, siding repair, window and door replacements, and interior remodels. With every project, his team gives us 100% and does amazing work. Our furnace is running much less this winter than last because of the insulation Harding Construction put in our attic last August. Back then, we noticed a 10 degree drop in inside temperatures after the installation of that insulation. We are happy with our home energy upgrade. Wes was direct, accurate, and efficient in his recommendations and in his responses to all of our questions. His installers were similarly efficient, as well as personable. We also received our full eligible rebate from Home Upgrade Energy California for the work Wes's team did. Yes, we recommend Harding Construction, as we look forward to working together with them again ourselves.

I recently had Wes and his team do an "Energy Upgrade" project for me. The process of going about understanding how the rebate program works and what amounts are available is extremely convoluted. Wes was fantastic in spelling out all of the variables and giving a conservative estimate that left a lot of upside. He handles all of the paperwork and submission as well. Throughout the process he was not only extremely knowledgeable but very consultative in helping me understand exactly what work needed to be done in order to achieve the desired outcome, and believe me, I had a lot of questions for which he had answers. Once he started the project, his crew was extremely timely, orderly in their work, and professional. The work was completed on time - as promised - and surpassed all of the metrics needed to receive the maximum rebates. I would highly recommend Wes and his team for any Energy Upgrade program project and really any type of construction upgrade for that matter.

Wes Harding is more knowledgeable in his field than most of the people I've run across. I am very energy conscious and wanted to get the most results in home comfort for the least expenditure of energy. I wanted a whole house fan, and he also suggested tripling our attic insulation along with that. I cannot believe the difference this has made in our lives! What used to be a heat magnet in warm weather, now feels cooler than the outside when I walk in the door, and after running the fan for a little while I don't think about the heat anymore. It's a very natural way to cool down and use very little energy, while doing it. Wes makes sure that the work is done correctly. We recently purchased a 1910 Foursquare Arts and Crafts home in downtown Long Beach that had a lot of deferred maintenance and needed a ton of work. We wanted an eco-friendly, high efficiency home remodel, so we hired Harding Construction & Sustainable Solutions for our roof, windows, window trim, paint, flooring, wall insulation, attic insulation, and two high efficiency heating and air conditioning systems. Wes was very knowledgeable and always helpful during the remodeling and rebate application process. We love how he raised the floor of our attic to accommodate plenty of insulation and plenty of storage. We were able to obtain rebates for work we had already planned on doing and we also were awarded a GreenPoint Rating Green Home Certificate for the improvements we made to our home. Our HERS rating shows that we are a very efficient home. Our home is now quiet and comfortable all year round, our power and gas bills are very low.

Having just bought a condo in Long Beach back in December 2011, I decided to do some remodeling. I came across Wes at Harding Construction & Sustainable Solutions when I noticed his ad in the local Long Beach newspaper (Grunion Gazette) for energy efficient upgrades. Wes responded to my email with a phone call which I thought was a nice touch. After chatting for a bit, we setup a time to meet. Even though I have a small condo, it was really cool that Wes invested the time to walk me through some basic things I could do to help maximize my energy consumption. The end result of this first meeting didn't really translate to any major business for Wes; however, a few months later, I remembered him when I needed someone to help finish my back-splash. He quoted me a very fair price and one of his employee's, Jeff, was able to complete my back-splash in one day. Wes took the time to come over after the work was completed and made sure I was completely satisfied. I told him I already referred him to a few other people in my building that were looking to have work done. In this current economy, contractors are a dime a dozen. However, customer service and quality of work is not always easy to find.

We hired Harding Construction & Sustainable Solutions to do an energy audit and upgrade our 100- year old historic, but non-insulated home. Although we love our home, it was too cold in the winter and too warm in the summer, and our utility bills were high. They upgraded our attic insulation, air sealed our attic, installed wall insulation, sealed our existing duct work, installed LowE insulation in our crawlspace, air sealed the old craftsman wood windows, and installed a high efficiency tankless water heater. They did a highly professional job. All the Harding Construction workers were very knowledgeable about everything related to energy efficiency and always courteous, prompt, and hardworking. Their work resulted in a much more comfortable home, with lower energy bills. Wes worked very hard to ensure that we met all the city historical requirements and were eligible for all of available rebates.
