During the course of discussing the scope of work with various contractors to build a rock wall, and repairing damaged portions, A & J proved themselves by knowing the scope of work desired and provided a written drawing, proposal, and estimate. We are extremely pleased with our decision to hire A & J Retaining Walls. As they are extremely capable and knowledgable stone wall builders. And, their price was extremely reasonable. Without a doubt, the wall they built exceeded our exceptions in appearance and the artistic manner in which they placed various sizes of natural stones. This team of hard working, professional, and customer friendly gentlemen turned our sloped, eroding backyard into a place my family and I can be proud of forever! We had an old retaining wall with rotten railroad ties and a fence that was barely standing on top of it. A&J removed all the old debris and started out fresh. They transformed the dangerous grade in our backyard into something we didn't think was possible! We now have a perfectly symmetrical retaining wall. They also back-filled our entire backyard adding topsoil until it was perfectly even with our patio. Furthermore, they installed fence brackets on top of the wall so the fence would be more stable. Jas and his team did an outstanding job from our first consultation, to the plans that looked like they came from an architect, to the finished product......a seriously cool looking backyard! We saw their work in a neighbor's yard and decided to contact these guys to fix up our front stairs and yard, and it was definitely worth it. The workers were kind, worked really hard, and asked clarifying questions whenever needed, ensuring they accommodated all of our requests. At the end they were even willing to change a little part to ensure we were totally happy. They also managed to finish before the deadline at a reasonable cost. We really recommend these guys.

Jas the owner and his team were the hardest working bunch I have ever seen. Karan came out and helped us with our quote and designing our tiered retaining wall. We were quoted a week time frame and they finished exactly in a week. They were on time everyday, including working Saturday, and cleaned up their tools ever night before going home. They did not let the rain stop them and once on the job, never left until the end of the day. The work they do is beautiful and were very meticulous. They took a hillside we had covered with ivy, blackberry bushes, very old railroad ties and old bricks and built us a tiered very large retaining wall. All of our neighbors were very impressed how hard working this team is and what beautiful work they do. I would gladly ask them back again should I need anymore brick work done. We needed a couple things from a landscaping contractor. First was to have our back yard cleared, graded, and put new sod in a good portion of the yard that was previously unusable. Secondly, we needed to have pavers installed on two locations around the house. A & J Retaining Walls was very responsive and provided us with a detailed estimate that came out under three other contractors we asked bids from. They were able to start earlier than the agreed time and completed the job on time. Throughout the process they maintained close communication in every step of the way, making sure that we were on the same page. A & J Retaining Walls delivered high quality results and exceeded our expectations in all aspects. We'd hire them again for future projects and will undoubtedly recommend them to friends and family.
