Knotty's Woodwork

After visiting the showroom to look at several samples I decided to go with pre-sized Walnut block. The range of sizes and thicknesses is incredible. This is real wood, not veneer or cheap cracking/splitting slabs sold at box stores in limited sizes. Was ready in less than a week from time of order. Cut it to length and finished it with Rubio Oil Plus 2C Pure. Thanks to April for taking the time to go over the entire process with me. Looks great! Nothing but compliments from everyone who has seen it. I would definitely recommend Knotty's to anyone looking for a high quality wood top.

We did a complete Reno of our existing kitchen, removed walls , new cabinetry etc. We had our hearts set on a butcher block countertop and island but it had to be unique. George has the experience and creative brilliance to turn our dream kitchen into reality. just took delivery of my gorgeous walnut top for my island (one piece 7.5 X 9.5 ) It was incredibly well packed and crated for its' jpurney of over 1000 miles.....I ordered by phone and sent measuremnts. George sent photos as it was being built........it arrived in perfect condition, on time and fairly priced as quoted. I hired George to fabricate three walnut butcher block countertops for my kitchen in Brampton, ON, one of which had to line up with a stainless steel countertop. All of the countertops are stunning and perfectly aligned. They were installed with no mess and have been durable, water and heat resistant. I would highly recommend George's work. He takes a tremendous amount of personal pride in the finished product.

We are thrilled with our butcher's block countertop portion. It is a highlight of our new kitchen renovation, both functional and beautiful. My husband is a lover of all things wood and a quality fanatic and he is beyond impressed. This came on time in the project schedule and with the declining Canadian dollar, the price point was significantly more reasonable than the US based Grot house alternative that our kitchen company typically works with (which allowed us to support a Canadian made product!).

I love our new countertops from Knotty's. The cut was perfect for the under mount sink installation. They had the best selection of wood available and their website made it really easy to see all the different options.

George and his team built an 8' butcher block countertop for a set I had to rebuild for the Food Network. Because it was a rebuild of an existing show , the color and general aesthetic had to be a close match. It turned out so much better than I expected . George did an extremely fast turn around for me in under a week. He also worked with me blending various stains to get just the right tone that was exactly what I wanted it to be and beveled the edge to match a counter it would be sitting beside. I would call these guys again in a heartbeat. Looking around the shop , I saw so many beautiful pieces. You can't go wrong hiring these guys.

I ordered a wood block cutting board off their website and it was available the following week. It's really beautiful, and I love it!

I have ordered several butcher blocks from knotty's over the past year for multiple projects and all have turned out perfect. George does a great job informing me and delivering any information I may request in a timely fashion and does a great job working within the time constrains of my projects. Overall I have had a great experience with knotty's and will continue to use them on future projects.

I was having some difficulty finding a reputable butcher block supplier/manufacturer in British Columbia and Alberta. Local contractors were pricing my project very high, and some of them would not even consider the job. (some would not even return a phone call) I had no choice but to broaden my search across Canada and even the US. I found Knotty's Woodwork just by searching on the internet. At first I was very hesitate about proceeding with a contractor located in Ontario, but George was very receptive to my needs and assured me that shipping these large counter-tops (in the dead of winter, no less) would not be a problem. He showed me pictures of his work. Schedule was also very important--we needed them in time for Christmas, and because I had to deliver them to a remote area there was no room for error. Needless to say, George came through as promised and his work speaks for itself. He shipped them very carefully, measurements were precise, and my expectations were met. I will use Knotty's Woodwork on my next project. I recommend that you do, as well, regardless where you are.

George Kritikos, from Knotty's Woodwork, took a $500 deposit out of my bank account, then didn't show up for scheduled measuring appointment and a month later still has not returned deposit. Looks like I'm going to have to call the police to get my money back!
