Lapicida Stone Group

I have worked with Lapicida on several projects. The variety of beautiful stone they offer is quite inspirational and enhances a room to perfection. The company always has excellent choices for high-end interior projects. I look forward to working with Lapicida again in the future.

Further to my earlier review below, Lapicida's director was in touch with me after reviewing our case. They have worked to quickly and efficiently resolve the issues we raised below. Fancy showroom, great samples and promise of quality of products let down by the eventual delivery of products. At the time of placing our order for 33sqm of 'premium' and 'select grade' quality Crema Marfil (from Spain), we were given very good quality samples, shown a picture of the actual slab (of very good quality) that was to going to be used to cut our tiles from with repeated use of 'premium quality' and 'select grade' to describe the tiles. The price quoted for the tiles was 20% above the highest quotes we had received otherwise. As we were after a very high quality product, we placed the order with Lapicida (@ £144 per sqm). The tiles delivered were completely unacceptable. Not only did they not reflect premium or select grade quality (with green patches all over the tiles), nor did any tile look like the original slab shown to us but the tiles were of varying thicknesses (between 12mm to 28mm), on different sides of the tiles. These are clearly outside of tolerance levels as per British and European Standards. Lapicida apparently have a quality check process but clearly not one that works. This resulted in my wife and I sorting through the 50+ tiles of 30+ kgs each, one at a time, including clicking pictures (as Lapicida needed evidence of their quality checked tiles being of poor quality). After 4 weeks of back-and-forth, we were sent replacement tiles. This period delayed our entire house renovation project and we had to store the poor quality tiles in the meantime. We also had to repack, at our expense, all the original tiles as Lapicida did not offer to do this for a few more weeks (assuming we have free storage). Shockingly, the tiles delivered the 2nd time around also were not of the quality promised by Lapicida. We were shown pictures of the new slabs prior to the tiles being cut, which we commented on of not being the same quality as that promised at the time of sale. However, since we had already faced 4 weeks of delays thanks to Lapicida's failure to deliver quality products or secure a product of the quality initially promised, we were cornered into a position where we had to use the tiles delivered (or delay our project further at a cost of thousands of pounds). The firm clearly does not accept responsibility for delivering a sub-standard quality of product, not refunding the difference in quality and hence mis-selling their products.
