I met Melissa at an event showcasing business owners. Her "booth" was unique and impressive. I was immediately attracted to it. She was an interior designer and her space looked like she knew what she was doing. We had a discovery call with my husband. His taste is different than mine, but we compliment each other. She was able to take my ideas and marry them to his colors/concepts. She helped us design our bedroom and 1st floor. Her presentation was flawless, the colors, furniture ideas, placement; it was spot on. Melissa was so good in fact, we commissioned her to design the basement as well. Melissa is a GEM! She makes you feel like the priority, so when you reach out, be ready to sign. She will make your living spaces feel luxurious and cozy all at the same time. Can't say enough about our amazing projects!

I contacted Melissa because I was thinking of having my bathroom redone and just wanted a designer’s eye on my house. She has incredible ideas and great taste. Even though we only did an informal consultation she produced a beautiful packet with lots of great ideas for changes all around the house. If and when I do redo the bathroom I will absolutely hire her.

I wanted a fresher, more modern look for our 100-year old home. I hired Melissa to offer some opinions for small things I could do that wouldn't break the bank. Melissa has excellent taste, and she's full of ideas. Under Melissa's suggestion, I changed all the existing recessed lights to more modern LED recessed lights, which are a lot brighter and cleaner looking. Melissa also picked out several modern chandeliers and a bunch of modern sconces, which were very reasonably prices and which constantly receive compliments from visitors. Melissa also made a bunch of very small changes, such as recommending that a mirror be moved from one room to another, or moving around some pictures. Finally, Melissa picked out some fantastic new colors for the walls, which are both fresh and bold. It's hard to explain, but these small things have created an entirely new look for our home. I really like our house now! I want to add that Melissa is great to work with. Aside from having impeccable taste, she is extremely reliable and shows up early. She will go out of her way to explain things, like creating a whole document customized for me on how to choose the right lighting. But what I like best about Melissa is that if I tell her that I'm not sure about something, she takes the time to really listen to what is bothering me and to find something that works better for me.

My husband and I reached out to Melissa to help us with our home. We rent and decided we wanted our home to look nice despite our inability to paint and customize the fixtures. This was quite the task. I had already purchased furniture and the wall color and layout were bland. Just seemed impossible. We called Melissa and set up an appointment. I was a little self conscious because our home looked... unfinished, like something was missing. Instantly Melissa’s calm yet sweet spirit put me at ease to communicate what I wanted. She listened and wrote notes. After, she asked if she could measure and instantly went to work. Soon after the initial appointment we had another appointment. She presented 3 different designs to choose from. All were very hard to choose from. She fused my taste and my husband’s taste together perfectly. Although we have similar taste we had different views and needs. Oh, did I mention another challenge... We have small children, and wanted a baby friendly space that looked like only adults lived there. She nailed it. After having this experience with Melissa, We challenged her even further. We had her Design our Salon. She made new stations, conquered a challenging waiting area and most of all, her designed appealed to our multi-cultural salon that caters to both men and women. See the challenge? Every time someone walks in our space they are so impressed. We are complimented often! It feels good. Melissa’s pricing is fair. More than fair. Her experience, taste and professionalism should cost way more! More than I can afford. If you dont hire Melissa, your expectations can be met, but by no means will be exceeded without her. Trust me... we have a Pinterest home and salon. Thanks to her we no longer look at Pinterest boards, but live and work in them.

I had the great fortune of working with Melissa - a force and a phenom of a woman that I wholeheartedly believe will be talking the design world by storm. She’s incredibly intuitive, engaging and every step of the process - from the original consultation to the final touches on my home - made me feel like I was a premier client receiving the utmost care and attention. She took the time to listen to who I was as a person and selected pieces that personified who I am. Ms Rees designed a kitchen and family room that is contemporary, warm and welcoming. Her eye for detail made all the difference, from picking the perfect wall color, finding the right quartz to designing a beautiful fireplace surround. We have been living in this space for 2 years and I would not change a thing.I will use her again when we are ready to remodel the master.
