Building was not even a remote consideration of ours because of the negative experiences of many of our friends. However, our determination to build and our building experience was completely different primarily due to the Makena team. We had three considerations. First, the quality of the construction was a primary consideration. Obviously, the quality of the house is dependent upon the quality of the materials and the workers’ skills. The integrity and character of the Makena team streamlined the process and provided for us direct accessibility in making our vision a reality. Finally, we wanted a house that would be a home. In our Makena home we certainly have that. It is not only a beautiful and well-constructed home, it possesses the quality of functionality which interfaces perfectly with our family’s lifestyle and focus.

Choosing to build our custom home with Makena Custom Builders was the absolute best decision. Building was not on our list of options. David is a wonderful builder with great ideas to help create the home of your dreams. When we build our home 5 yrs ago, we didn't have any experience with custom builders and didn't know what to expect. David walked us through the process, helped us find a lender and used his charm to help keep everyone calm and on track when "all the little things" happened..... because they always do when you are involved in a big project like home building. This was our first experience in having a house built so there was some hesitation - having heard many horror stories. I can certainly see how it could easily be a very stressful experience - but we didn't have that. We had seen other Makena homes prior to our decision and knew that the quality of these homes was exceptional. The house we had Makena build is a large house - was a huge commitment for us. I can truly say that David and his team could not have been better. As can be expected, there were many decisions to be made but David was truly professional in not overwhelming us. He took the time to ask questions and listen to us prior to and during construction and, in doing so, was able to factor in our taste with his own design expertise. I had the opportunity to speak with others that owned houses that Makena built and I only heard positive things. I think one thing that sets David apart from other builders is that even though he builds great houses he is not just a house builder - he is an artist with decorating experience as well - it's about the finished product not just completing the construction plans. He is a good communicator with personality and he was upfront on changeorder work - I never felt blindsided, not once. We never felt like the schedule was unduly delayed or that there were any hidden costs. I can truly say that for us the process was enjoyable and I sort of hate that it's over. For anyone considering the construction of an upscale home you would be well advised to give Makena a call - we are certainly happy with our result!.

David Williams with Makena Custom Builders is the best custom builder in Fort Bend County for sure. He adds many custom features as part of his normal build, nothing is plain or normal about his design. He is not only a great builder and designer, but a great person too. Even though we have not had many, if any at all, touch ups completed after move-in, I feel very confident he will stand behind his work. There is not a custom builder that is comparable to David; he is the best.

It has been very easy working with Makena Custom Builders, especially when it comes to design changes. I have been well informed of scheduling and have kept cost overruns to a minimal. David Williams was especially helpful with the coordination with the service I hired to drill my water well. Although the house is only about 505 complete now I believe the quality of the work done so far is excellent.
